sometimes marriages fail, despite efforts of others. In todays world which we all have to operate in with all the blended families step-grandparenting & grandparenting are issues that are going to stay with us. It doesnt have to be hard. Roles of parenting & grandparenting have changed over the decades. Grandparents used to be viewed as built in baby sittiers or weekenders. But today, they work, they have lifes of their own to live also more active, younger than in the past times. Parents, grandparents and step- grandparents shouldn't make life in these blended families difficult. It's complex and confusing; it's a far cry from perfect; I know -but this is the world we live in today. What it all boils down to is a natural love for the children- no matter what role you have - natural or unnatural. That's my take on this subject I'm not trying nor will I compete with anyone. This includes my take on step children also they are still your children.
