I had signed a promissory note for aproximately $4,800.00 student loan with First Interstate Bank, just before they were bought by Wells Fargo. I had only recieved one of two disbursements on the loan (half) when I had to drop out of school. WELLS FARGO came after me for the whole amount...
During my fight with them about the amount, Wells Fargo informed me that when they bought First Interstate, they boxed up all hard copies and sent them into storage outside of Arizona (North Carolina), and only transferred what First Interstate Bank had in their computers going back to 1993. If needed, I can go into my records and get the name of the person at Wells Fargo that told me this.
