AN ODE TO Superintendents of Jackson County

So glad I left this crooked ass county. When will Florida get with the program, let teachers be considered state workers, get state health insurance, YES THEY ARE PAYING 3PERCENT OUT OF THEIR PAYCHECKS, yet can't get state health insurance. Nor county. So what are they? They are in some purgatory, floating around, county won't claim them, state won't claim them, but sure claim that retirement. My nephew pays almost 200 bucks a month out of his paycheck to bluecross for 1000 deductible, and still pays 20 percent of bill, and 25 bucks for dr., and anyone that is considered a specialist is 75. Bullshit, excuse my French. Teachers are screwed. And look at elections. Crappy choices. And not just superintendents. All of the races. Sad when the picking comes down to crap and crappier running against each other.

Familiar I am with the Westbrook situation. I have heard she has covered up situations in schools similar to what has been covered up with her son. She got lots of practice with him. Maybe her outlook on life would have been different if she had a daughter.

Surely Benton would know better than to associate himself with that mess. He ran on slogans that said "no politics" so I think he would be a bald faced liar if he hired an ex House representative's wife to be his cohort. Maybe he just wants in for four years. That is all he will get if that happens. Miller, well Miller, where has he been the past four years. Moore messed him up, trying to be super himself. Miller is not the Miller he was the first go around. Maybe retirement would perk him up.

I am fully aware of the flim flam deal where Miller/Moore did not give him a job, and Benton had to turn to Alabama. One quality I like about Benton, is his persistence. He didn't give up. So let's hope he doesn't mess up with his choices he makes with personnel.

How old is Mrs. Westbrook? Seems to me she would be at retirement age on a rocking chair by now.

For starters, you guys need to get out of that PAEC group. That is a total waste of money, and there is a petition I am aware of going around to end this whole money pit, you guys aren't rural anymore, and Governor Scott is very interested in what we think about this money sucking umbrella over your county. I can post a link if needed to sign the petition off change.org Sad that nobody in your county brought this up to the politicians during speeches, presentations, etc. It is your kids that suffer, but it appears your complacent county doesn't give a rat's ass.

Benton rise above the "names" in this county. I promise you the "names" would be kissing Miller's ass and badmouthing you if he had won. Where were they when you were driving back and forth to Alabama every day? Probably bringing brownies to Miller and Moore. We need new people in leadership positions, maybe Benton will get a wild hair and look out of county for new talent, new faces. This was not part of Miller (or should I say Moore's) agenda.

Miller has done nothing for the teachers. I know during Teacher Appreciation Week, nothing was done for the teachers. No morale anymore, No money for your most valuable asset, the Nationally Certified Teachers that get nothing (look around you, you are the only state that is not giving any incentive, but several counties in Florida have come up with their own. My nephew quit the process due to no support at all from Jackson County. Yet you all have money for Ipads, flying in boring speakers for thousands, new furniture at your office, homemade DROP retirement programs for 9 certain "names", fancy lawyers to harass parents who simply want the best for their child, made up director positions, BTW, like how Melanie Mitchell got wedged in the district office, what marriage is she on now?

Good luck to all of you. I pray Benton conducts his position with emphasis on the morale of the teachers. Partnering with Westbrook will put Benton out in four years. I hope this is a dirty rumor. Good nite
