They can, but he has to get his name out there more. Honestly, can you expect people to remember a candidate's name, first and last, while casting their ballot? Using that scenario to win is about as likely as me winning the Lotto, and I don't even play but maybe once per year.

You are incorrect the state representative race will not even be on the democratic ballot in august. The domocrats can vote glidewell in November if he wins in august. And about making his name known call your republican friends encourage them to vote!!! Glidewell youhave had my vote since you spoke in holmes county.

Actually, I can vote for The Cookie Monster in November on that little blank line if I want to do so. You are correct in that Democrats will not get the opportunity to vote at all in the State Representative primary in August, though. I've been saying that all along. I changed my party with the Supervisor of Elections just so that I can vote against Marti Coley next month. November voting is just a technicality.

About all I've seen Glidewell do is get on topix and repeat things he says on facebook. Don't think he realizes that Topix really doesnt have many followers and this site is a piss poor way to run a political campaign and get your message across. I saw an ad in the Jackson County Times, but let's face it, hardly anyone reads that little paper.

Don't get me wrong, I hope and pray the guy wins. But I don't think he'sdone a very goid job in getting his name out there very much. Coley has huge signs in great locations. He has small ones mixed in with everybody else's signs, so he is practically running in the dark, not standing out.

Still hear people say "No need to vote because Marti is unopposed.".......lots of people have never heard of the guy.

His best bet at this point is to put up a few huge signs like on 90, 71, and 231, maybe a billboard ad or two to get his name out there, and scrape together enough money for a TV commercial and say "I'm running against Coley."

Without some major changes in his campaign style % and quick changes) he doesn't stand a chance.

I appreciate your comments. When I entered the race I knew we would be outspent and that we would have to use our limited resources wisely. We have put out hundreds of signs but unfortunately they do not seem to stay long in some places. We have really used the free media to spread the word because it is free. We have also bought ads in places where we can get the most bang for the buck and are doing targeted mailouts. Billboards and TV are expensive and beyond our budget at this time.
We are going door-to-door and calling people. We are also depending heavily on grassroots help; people calling their friends, family and neighbors and letting them know about the issues and how our opponent has voted during her time in the legislature. I would appreciate any help anyone can give us. If we can pull this off it will send a strong message to the powers in Tallahassee and the big spenders who attempt to buy votes that people are on to them and will not support them any longer.

I sure you hope you pull it off Danny! If not this time, PLEASE, keep your name out there and keep running - the next election is 2014, so hopefully if things don't go as we hope this time, you can keep raising money and hopefully be able to better compete next time.

HOWEVER.......sure hoping it's going to go in your favor this time. I think a big bonus is that most of the registered Repulicans are over your way. There are not that many in Jackson County and I hope that will also be in your favor.

GO DANNY GO!!!!!!! We are all pulling for you!

I think we have a real shot this time. Every day more and more people are getting the message and the response at rallies and forums has been great in every county in the district. The teachers and state and local employees have a vested interest in a change in this seat and they know the voting record better than anyone. We just need to keep working these last couple of weeks and really need grassroots calling and talking.

Any teacher, stateworker, law enforcement officer or corrections officer who votes for Coley is deranged or suicidal. All she has done is vote with slick rick scott and take money out of our pockets and try to privatize our jobs. And teachers would really have to be lost because they have really stuck it to them. Don't know alot about Glidwell, but he seems to be on our side and he can't be worse. We can give him a chance and if he stinks like Coley and Drake we can vote him out in two years. But party marti has got to go.

My predictions is that Marti will loose big time. She miscalculated on what is important to her district. Central panhandle has a lot of prison that make up its base. Don't understand why she did not see this coming.
