Thanks. I am glad they caught them; that's really what I wanted to know. It is a terrible tragedy.

John Wayne Lincoln is one of the two boys in custody. I've heard there is also a young black male suspect. There is no excuse what these boys have done, and I hope they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and are given the death penalty.

Unfortunately (in this case) our legal system is one of justice, not one of equal justice. Even if they do get the death penalty, they will get an IV and just go to sleep peacefully. Nothing like this poor woman experienced.

It makes me sick to my stomach to know this poor woman had a terrifying last few minutes on this earth, and then her poor husband having to find her. This poor man will have 40-plus years of happy memories erased because you know everytime he thinks of his wife and life partner for all these years, that image is going to be stuck in his mind.

Those boys ruined a lot of lives yesterday and they need to pay with their own. If they wanted to rob them, rob them and tie her up.

WHY did they have to murder this woman? How could this happen?

John Wayne Lincoln is the son of Jackie Mathis Lincoln, and his grandparents are Fauline and Pat Mathis. They are two of the nicest people I've ever met, and it sickens me, too, to know they have to live with knowing their crazy ass grandson committed such a horrific crime to people they have known for many many years. It's just a horribly sad, sick situation that these two boys have caused all the way around.

I'm glad law enforcement caught them. I wonder how they caught them so soon. I think I'm going to purchase a pistol because of this. There were two boys against one unsuspecting woman. How do people get to the point where they just don't have a heart or a soul?

Drugs rob you of your heart and soul! I bet they needed some quick cash to buy drugs with! Sad for all the families involved in such a horrific crime! I didn't know this lady but my heart aches for her husband and children!

It's just sad. So so sad. And "sad" doesn't even seem like the right word to describe just how bad it is.

How can someone do that to an innocent woman? She had done nothing to anyone, and even sadder, was brutally murdered in the one place where you should feel the safest, your home.

Just another wake up call that evil is all around us, even right here in Jackson County.

The husband, children, and grandchildren are in my prayers. I hope somehow they can find peace in their hearts, but how do you do that in a crime like this?

If it been a car accident or heart attack, you would grieve, but you could make sense of it and accept that it happened. But this, just a cold heartless murder - how do you ever make sense of it and accept it? I can't understand it and don't even know them. How can you explain this to her young grandchildren?

My heart just breaks for all of them. To the Ford family: I don't know you, but each and everyone of you are in my prayers. I cannot imagine the horrible days ahead of you. Your lives will never be the same, and my heart just breaks for you.

I hate to know that something like this has happened again in Jackson Co. You think you are safe in the country, knowing most of your neighbors are "good" people. A couple of wrong decisions these boys made and now they have ruined many lives including their own. At least these presumed suspects are in custody. I am actually quite stunned that arrests have been made so soon (if indeed this story is true and JCSO has made arrests). I think if this is true it will go on record to be one of the fastest murders ever solved in JCo (excluding murderers found at the scene of course)...maybe these detectives can put the same energy into our unsolved murders?

Agreed. Two men have destroyed the lives of dozens of people, from family to friends to coworkers to their own families to their own individual lives. And for what? What did they think they would gain from it?

They caught them so soon because we finally have a Sheriff.

I, too, have know both families all my life and agree they are wholesome Christian people. So sad they both have to face this horrible tragic loss. Lives interrupted and loss for no reason. This is evil.... surely he must be able to blame it on drugs??? My heart is broken for the Ford's and the Mathis' families.

The reason they were caught was due to a watchful farm worker. This hurts so many people (myself included) so, so bad. So many people know this family and are hurting. :( I'm sure the Lincoln bastard will claim temporary insanity. (He looks retarded anyway. Oh, and yeah, I'm not politically correct. People like that don't deserve respect.) The Sherman man was involved in this, too, and shouldn't get off any easier. They've destroyed the lives of so many people -- family, friends, co-workers, etc. These bastards should get the death penalty.

Does anyone know anything about this King Edward person and why he is hanging out with a 21 year-old punk?

Where did Lincoln go to school at, and why in the world is he hanging out with a 38 year old man, and don't he live with Fauline and Pat, and how could they not see this kid was headed down the wrong path? No the police did not do a good job, I'm sure this will end up with money stolen for meth, and our sheriffs department refuses to aggressively go after all the meth users because so many are intertwined with their own families to include the major deputy sheriffs own son. screw this, meth is devils drug, time for the sheriffs department to lock them all up to include sisters (uh Logger) sons (lots, and major) and everyone who is involved with this drug. take a tip from mckeithan its calle TOUGH LOVE JCSD go get them!

So this Lincoln kid lived with his mother, grandmother, grandfather, and he had a child living there, too??????? Unbelievable. Why is Jackie Mathis still living there? Hasn't she grown up and moved out by now? I also heard that Lincoln has a girlfriend in addition to his 35-year-old black friend. This kids picture doesn't look like he's a meth addict; he looks more like he's a food addict.

This is a horrible tragedy but your comment about the kid looking like a food addict was really funny because I was thinking the same thing. Why in the world did he turn a simple breaking and entering into a murder? I am sorry for both families...the ones who lost a loved one and the ones who have to live with this on their conscience.

What this county needs is a damn Sheriff with gonads! He freaking useless. All he is worried about is politics, not fighting crime!
