This will be really bad for the officers. Now we will have a bunch of tired officers keeping us safe. I commend them however they can't help what tallahasse does to save a buck...

Not Scott so much as the prisons had so many people quit, hope we don't have to recall the troops from overseas. And I'm not a Scott supporter or any of his cabinet.

Not looking forward to it myself. All of these doubles due to lack of manpower to staff the shifts is killing us as it is.

Dear Correctional Officers,

We as a community realize that Viagra only lasts so long. No man can be expected to hunch for 12 hours. We sympathesize with all of you. I as a taxpayer, would be worn out too. I will pray that Viagra comes out with a Viagra XR if this change comes about. You are right, it is all pink on the inside. Doesn't matter what it looks like when you walk through those gates, and you all have made it way to obvious.

I am leaving a state job to take a job that I will work 4 10 hour days a week and be off 3. I have kids but I am lucky enough to have their mother to help with them. There is no benefit to working a state job anymore, its a paycheck. At least in the private industry where I am going, I will get a raise every year, my health insurance for my family will cost the same as it does with the state and include vision and dental and not cost me extra like it does with the state, and yes, I will not bbuild time off like a state worker does, I will get 2 weeks paid vacation the first year, 1 sick day a month, but i figure with 3 days off a week, we can do alot.

Finding a 12 hour day care is all but impossible, and unaffordable if you can find it. For those who don't rely on day care or second jobs to make ends meet, there won't be much of a hassle working 12 hours. For those two groups, it will absolutely be a hardship. We already have several officers at our institution looking elsewhere for jobs. They could at least pay us time and a half for anything over 40, but they won't even be doing that.

The people that make these rules obviously do not understand or care that there are ALOT of single parent households, they do not want to pay overtime in money, they want to add it to your time off bank. I heard a lady say what good does that do to someone who is barely making ends meet now when they have to come up with more money for day care. The lady is right. people who have elder care responsibilities to parents etc, work second jobs to make ends meet because we have not had a raise in 7 years, have to pay our retirements now, all state workers have had is cuts and all we are told is how useless we are. Wait till there is no one to take care of the inmates and the residents and they escpare and/or are put out on the streets. Then it will be who's crying now. All state workers DO NOT make what all the higher ups make. we live poverty level.

Hunting a job is not unheard of, so get at it or dry the tears and get your A_S on the job. There is actual labor on real jobs if you want to work under different conditions. Scares the hell out of me though, so hi-ho-hi-ho its off the prisono for me.

Naw, just caught punks in the closet and have seen two heads in a single toilet stall while doing my job. Punks are the worst problems in a prison and have witnessed convicts in visitation with their babys mama..so sick
