Turning out your lights at 2:00 am to run from a trooper because you're drunk, with a helpless passenger in the death seat, is some kind of clue, don't you think?

Sorry, Charlie...the bloom is off the rose as they say. If you put others' LIVES at risk, you DESERVE a harsh penalty. In fact, if the behavior you perpetrate could kill or maim another, you deserve a harsh penalty, indeed. Once you cross the line and start jeopardizing others' safety, you FORFEIT any and all rights. Is it that tough to figure out the VALIDITY, indeed usefulness, of that PRINCIPLE or are you really amongst that huge swath of the population who are literally, totally uneducable?

For the comments from "I told you so" and "Appalachian fools". I never said I agreed with his decision to get behind the wheel. I am 45 years old and I have always been the dd of a party, the responsible one. I have always preached to my kids and friends that they should NEVER get behind the wheel if they have been drinking, that they could always call me if they needed to. Better yet, don't drink. But, sometimes kids/adults do. Yes, it could have ended much more tragically if he would have took an innocent life. As a parent of three,if the phone rings late at night my heart stops. It is every mother's worse fear to hear that their child was in an accident, of any kind. I hope that the two of you live perfect lives and never make a bad choice and you raise perfect children. I am also a "defensive" driver and I try to make good decisions but I am not perfect. Nick was not perfect either, but he did not deserve to die you idiot. If you have children I pitty them because they will not be perfect and they will make bad choices. I bet you have made a few of your own. Try to remember that he had a family and friends that may read this. If you were burying your son, would you want anyone saying that he deserved it? Get a heart.

Yeah, we should definitely be totally ignorant and not make any judgements, even where it's really, painfully obvious that the behavior at issue is EASILY judged as utterly irresponsible. After all, the TOTAL suspension of thinking and judgement is the ONLY way to ENSURE that more people are maimed and killed by motor vehicles tomorrow. And, that's your goal, isn't it? I mean how else can we continue the cycle of death and destruction by motor vehicle???? If we use our brains, the chain of destruction could be broken!!!!!!!! LOL riotously.

Nick was such a great guy! We all miss him so much. Please dont take your loved ones for granted. You dont really realize what they mean to you until its too late.Nick was a quiet guy but so sweet! He had a really dry sense of humor and would say goofy stuff to make us all laugh. We could be in a silent room and nick would be the one to mutter something completly off the wall but it would keep us laughing for hours. He wasnt quick to judge, was a very hard worker, and just loved everyone. He was so proud of himself for how hard he had worked to have his own place and a nice job. We were all so proud of him too. I love you nick the italian
I wonder if everyone on here would think Nick was "such a great guy," if his decision to drink and drive had killed an innocent family?

DON"T DRINK AND DRIVE! Call a cab.

Guess you did not read the part, that judgement is not in your hands and God is not a cruel God. He does not punish people. Only I am still sure that there are a lot of you out there who are still too ignorant to understand this. When you can stand up and say that you are totally without sin then I might respect something that you have to say. What goes around comes around and one day you will more than likely have to eat your words when you suffer a loss. I only hope that people can show you more compassion than you have showed these people. You are not worth my time.

who is monitoring these posts???!!! you are seriously going to leave up crap from these ignorant sob's saying he should have killed the passenger and that they are glad Nick is dead????
you people have NO clue the type of people these young men were and are. I have seen Nick sleep in chairs, and sleep in his car to avoid drinking and driving. he just never drink and drove. I don't know why he did that night, nobody ever will. but he payed the ultimate price, and so did ALOT of others. when Nick passed away that night, alot of people got served life right along with him because their life will NEVER be the same! Nick was a sweetheart no matter what ANY of you say. He made a mistake! And I would REALLY like to know how all of these articles are saying he was "fleeing" from the police, when that trooper NEVER TURNED HIS SIRENS OR HIS LIGHTS ON!!!!!!!!! you people don't know the whole story, you don't know the men involved, so you really need to stfu!!!!! They both have family the love them unconditionally and to hear about things you ignorant people are writing is really ridiculous! I bet you wouldn't be saying the same crap if it was your son, or brother, cousin, or friend.
Nick - RIP.. you were one of the good guys. Everyone who REALLY knew you, know that! And those are the only people that really matter. Bryant - I love you and am thinking of you and praying for you day and night.
Right on girl!!! I have been in disbelief about all of this crap people are saying. You nailed it and all of these other ignorant sob's do not matter. The ones that matter know both boys and are praying for them and their families. F*** the rest! Mick

No one knows Nick was drunk driving. The passenger said"drinking was involved that night" that could mean anything. It could mean Nick had a couple of beers at the beginning of the night, it could mean the passenger was wasted, it could have meant it was just at the house. Nick wasn't the type to flee the cops n since the trooper didn't turn on his lights n sirens he had no reason to flee. I know you trolls are perfect n never make mistakes but it is possible he meant to switch on his brights n accidentally turned off his lights n hit the guardrail. It makes no sense the way they left it in the paper if you knew this young man at all!!! N you just jumped to conclusions w/o even asking what's his blood alcohol level? You all just thought the worst of him b/c that's what u want to think. I hope your family is never put through this even tho you've been scum to mine!

Do you ignorant people ALWAYS believe what you read??? I know there is NO WAY that Nick TURNED HIS HEADLIGHTS OFF at 2:44 in the morning!!!!! That is the most ridiculous thing I have EVER heard! NOBODY would turn off there headlights and SPEED UP! The trooper changed HIS story atleast twice! So don't believe everything you read! And Amber is absolutely right... his bac is not back. He could've had only 2 beers. I can't believe the nerve of you people to say you are glad he is dead, and he got what he deserved, and the passenger should've died too. THAT IS SICK. NOBODY deserved to die. He made it almost to his destination. Nobody was hurt and he didn't wreck until this trooper got involved. I don't believe for a second that Nick shut his headlights off. I truly believe this trooper is not telling the true story, and is covering his a$$ for something! I'm NOT saying drinking and driving is ok, but we don't know if Nick was drunk or not. Nobody is perfect, we have all made some TERRIBLE mistakes in our lives. None the less, Nick was a very good person, a sweetheart, a great friend to have. Bryant is just the same. Show some respect. Don't you know that the family of the boys involved are hearing ALL of this garbage that is being posted???!!! They are mourning. We are all mourning. Let everyone grieve in PEACE. And keep your rude, trashy, disgusting comments to YOURSELF!

Clue: "god" was INVENTED by people with small minds who can't think for themselves so they have to PRAY that someone, something, or some "power" thinks FOR THEM. Whenever you hear someone invoke "god", run for the exits cause you're in for a snow job. Hate to wake you from your decades long somnolence, but "god" never existed, doesn't exist, and won't come into to picture to save you from your own mental incapacity and lack of good judgement. What a riot...communicating with people on these threads is easier than shooting fish in a 10 gallon barrel. By the way, get a dictionary if you hope to carry this on much longer. I believe I've won the argument ten times over now but you sure are a glutton for punishment.
