I have only had very positive experiences there.

I have gone to the pool for years, have 4 children of many ages, used the weight rooms and babysitting, and tried many of the classes they have to offer. All has been great! Maybe you should go elsewhere if you are unhappy.

Or move?

Well, fortunately for the people, unfortunately for the park, many have chosen to go elsewhere. This has resulted in staff hour cuts and service cuts as well. When is this board going to wake up and realize that the commuity is not happy with the park district and make a change in leadership?

No, it's not an issue that I would choose to move over, but it is an issue that has led me to choose the Woodstock and Huntley Park Districts instead of going local. Fitness, aquatics, cheerleading, sports, I go elsewhere for all of it. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

I quite agree - people ARE going elsewhere for park programs. Having a dishonest park system is not worth moving out of town over. Marengo citizens are learning fast that their park district is not worth their time or money.

Sitting at the pool every day does not give you the experience some parents go through at the park district. You are not charged a $10 late fee when you buy pool passes late. The park district doesn't cancel pool passes. Your kids are not bored and neglected in the day camp program. Denise Anderson doesn't say you must go swimming in the cold, pouring down rain. This is what she said about the 5 year olds in Flag Football - the pro's play in this kind of weather so can a child in a park district program. They signed up knowing that the program would take place outside and should therefore be ready to play in any kind of weather. Even 45 degrees and pouring rain with flashflood warnings. Getting pool passes does not allow you to see the atrocities of what the current administration at the park district does to the citizens of Marengo.

Hello, I am running for Marengo Park district board. The park should be a place the Marengo citizens would like to go. PLEASE go vote on April 7. Jennifer Kacprowicz

Ms. Anderson, what have you done to enhance the park district? What are your future plans to enhance the park? Do you have any plans to become more involved with ALL age groups of your community? What did the dogs do in order to get you to work on adding a dog park? I'd like to know so that I can try the same tactic to get you to improve and expand programs for the PEOPLE of marengo!

i saw the lazy director at work. she's rude and stupid. she arrives at the park in the late morning and always leaves in the early afternoon. the park looks like crap.nice 5 hr. job she has. that short fat lazy grounds guy does nothing but sits up in front and hides from work. glad he's finaly gone. why was there no add for his job in Il. park districts websites? as usual denise was late doing that too, like the fool who runs the pool.

It is a fact that Ms. Anderson does not publicly advrtise jobs at the park district. She hired her daughter for the preschool teacher position. She hired a friend to be the grounds keeper. She was about to hired her friend's son to be the "pool fool" but he was smart enough to take a job somewhere else at the last minute. It is unknown where Ms. Anderson finally found her "pool fool" whom she eventually sent AWOL.

You don't want to work for Ms. Anderson anyway. I hear she arrests her own workers when they embarrass her and they are not her relative. I've overheard her talk about making the decision for the arrests - she was SO PROUD of herself. She probably thinks that NOW people would be more afraid of her and will stop talking down at her. HA!

Hmmmm****** One would think she would have worse things to worry about.Maybe perhaps, like closing the doors!
Afraid of her? Why? How could people talk down to her, when they never see her!

Oh I don't suppose Ms. Anderson is worried about closing down the doors at the Park District. If the place closes down it's because she ran it into the ground.

You bring up an interesting topic though. Do the Marengo citizens know what will happen to their tax dollars they currently pay to the park if the place closes down? YOUR TAXES WILL STILL BE TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU AND GIVEN TO THE PARK DISTRICT - A PARK DISTRICT THAT HAS BEEN CLOSED DOWN AND DISBANDED. Is that what Marengo wants?

One other item to note is that Ms. Anderson will not be out of a job if she shuts down the park. Tax dollars will still be given to a park district. She'll still be the park director. She'll just stop the programs and close the doors to the building. She will only have to worry about the groundskeeper and herself then.

Kind of makes me wonder how we ever did it before the park building and pool were built. The world still went around.
