1980's murder of teen girl

does anyone know or can tell me about a girl the found dead i think at the high school sometime in the mid 1980's i think under a dumbster? i remember hear ing stories when i was younger because i was like 12 at the time and it just got me to thinking about it after we watched the movie strangers. I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME remember if this is fact or fiction cause i watch so many wierd movies thanks to lifetime lol

Tammy Shoopman was her name and she was found on Feb. 11, 1985, partially clothed, lying on the ground in an alcove area on the North side of the school. They convicted James Harlow for murdering her and attempting to murder two other students. He is in the Wyoming prison for life, and has also murdered a correctional officer while incarcerated. According to Harlow he has killed more people than anyone will ever know. He is serving life reduced from death.

he had planned on killing 3 people the day he attepted to kill the two in which names i wont disclose. i was one of the 3 he planned on killing but something told me i should go home that day in which i never did any other time. The police hours later came knocking on my door to question me about what had gone on that day and said I was very lucky that I had someone watching over me and i believe i did.He raped and stabbed the girl and stabbed the guy and left them for dead and took off in the guys car. Luckly the girl hid in the sage brush and someone must have been looking out for her to cause a jogger just happend to see her. what was the late 70's early 80's movie that was a true story. group of angst teens hung out. one guy was a weird stoner....he killed one of the girls by the lake and the other friends knew but didnt say anything. i forget who was in it...

I dont know, but I am wondering the same thing. I work at a hotel on the south end of Rawlins, and one of the housekeepers has taken a couple of photos and one video of a little girl in our back lot two days ago, and one today. She was floating around the tree in our back lot, and the pictures are a little blurry, but I'm in the process of cleaning them up with Photobucket.

The correctional officer was my mom's best friend. My mom was a correctional officer at the state penn also. This was such a hard thing for my mom. And still today she thinks about him all the time...So i just what people to know he's in our hearts.

Ya know the whole thing about that creep getting it reduced from death to life.. I knew the officer he collins and dowdell murdered. It was mine and my ex husbands close friend... My ex was the one that found him after they had finished with him and left that poor man to suffer... I tell you for his families sake i wish they would have fried all three of them... Or done to them what they did to Wayne..

and yes there is more unsolved murders in rock springs wy... that is where i live not kindred nd. My aunt was murdered here in 1999. And the creep who killed her is still at large.. Cause we live in a town with a bunch of ignorant people that wont come forward and say who did it....

I am from RS and went to HS during the time that Tammy Shoopman was murdered and went to school with her cousin ( i believe they were cousins). I knew him very well and he was a very scary and rough kid.. but the question I have for you all is that I heard yesterday that a boy was found shot behind the HS. Have any of you heard the scoop on this crime? Oh and james harlow does deserve the death penalty I thought he was on death row what happened? but back to the recent murder any info...

i do know the story i know this family well... NO HE WAS NOT SHOT AND IT WASNT BEHIND THE HIGH SCHOOL... He was found by east jr high.. and he wasnt shot.. I am not going to try to speculate what happend to him.. He was a dear friend and we all loved him very much.. We are waiting for some results to come in so that we know what happend..

It's true that Tammy was killed and found at the school in February. She was one of the best friends I've ever had, and my heart breaks every day at her loss. It's been a lot of years, but she is definitely remembered! I'm glad to hear the latest about her killer. It's about time.
