My God! What was Bush thinking picking a man with principals and strong moral beliefs to lead the office that oversees federally funded teen pregnancy, family planning and abstinence programs.

Well, I'd bet he was thinking he could pander to the mindless twits who make up the RR (which is neither, BTW). By anointing another of the professional liars for cheezwhiz, he has evidently managed to do just that, at least based on your reaction.

cheezwhiz...that's funny. Yes ladies, kiss your birth control goodbye and start looking for a good abortion clinic for the your teens. King God George is attempting to force his false morality on others, AGAIN. Save those fetuses while killing our soldiers for oil.

I do not share the oily mans "strong moral beleifs" or those of the fundi freak he has appointed. I think, that if there were a devil, they might be it.

Abstinence....that's hilarious. IMPEACH BUSH! NOW!

"A Woman's Concern is persuaded that the crass commercialization and distribution of birth control is demeaning to women, degrading of human sexuality and adverse to human health and happiness," its contraception policy reads in part.

Need I say more????

I am a American citizen living in the UK. I have been so homesick for the USA. Now I wonder if its worth moving back home. I see all this assaults on womens rights and I wonder what is happening to the USA. Where have all the freedoms and rights gone to the USA citizens? Are they gone? Is President Bush making a Nanny State out of the USA? Soon it will be like here in UK with all the CCTV cameras every where. Is it worth moving home? Tell me honestly. Has it changed that much in 5 years?

No, but we are in danger of losing our freedoms if we do not step up! If we can keep the crazies from regaining control, we will be fine. MOST Americans can see the assault on our rights for what they are BUT they can not sit back and think just because we won this election that all is well. The crazies are on a god fuel mission and I don't think they will stop unless we show them that the don't have a prayer of being successful!

This posters thoughts on abortion stem from her fear of having to deal with and be responsible for her own life and decision making. She prefers to defer to a man or a god do it for her. No stress or acceptance of responsibilty that way. Can always blame someone else or dodge the responsibilty of hard issues. Maybe that comes from insecurity about her ability to make the hard decisions. She keeps trying to force the idea that a fetus is a baby, and that it being attached by umbilical cord and located INSIDE a womb, as "seperate", so that she can justify keeping an irresponsible pregnancy or use a baby as an excuse for not getting out of the house and getting a job.

Fear of NOT being controlled is the fuel for the anti-woman groups BS. They use a fetus to hide their true agenda. These women are afraid that if the law gives them autonomy in career, education or reproduction, that they might have to be independent and fend for themselves.

Do not worry, those of you who chose to remain under the control of a man can still exercise that choice! You just won't get to use our uterus's or fetuses to force YOUR choice on all of us!

Just the fact that this poster thinks that pro-choice women fear losing "control" and insinuates that a woman controlling her own pregnant body is BS, shows that she thinks that a women should be enslaved by her body/pregnancy and that a woman, once pregnant ceases to be a thinking, reasoning, human person.

Bingo, this poster's thoughts about abortion are motivated by fear of being CONTROLLED, and it fuels the "woman's control over her own body" BS regarding the unborn children. That's why she can't see reason about an unborn baby being an unborn baby, or seeing that it is a totally seperate entiity from the woman. It has its own blood type, its own DNA, its own spirit, its own organs, everything but the cord that provides it noursihment. Fear of being controlled is the root of the emtreme irrationality about all this.
Because those of us who don't fear being controlled, because we're secure in what we do actually control for ourselves as women, don't see it the same way at all.

Why is it that women like BAA think that just because we care for, love and respect men and children, as well as other women (equally) that we are then "defering" [control] over ourselves to others. That's so absurd. Clearly this person doesn't understand the true meaning or experience of being a well-rounded strong and independent woman who can love and respect men, as much as she can love and respect other women (those who are respectful of both genders, of course) and also love and repsect children.
Being strong and independent women in no way means losing or defering control over our own lives or our own bodies. In a pregnancy..........it's not JUST about [ourselves] or [our bodies]. There are the father's of those children to consider and the unborn babies bodies to consider. CONSIDERING OTHERS not just ourselves is not about losing or defering "control", at all. Some people are so clueless about that.
Exactly - you've hit the nail on the head in that people like BAA have absolutely NO clue. In her world, all that matters is herself - to hell with anyone/everyon else - unless of course, they happen to be willing to allow HER to control THEM.

This is a serious development in terms of the future of all reproductive rights - especially birth control access and sex education. I would appreciate it if dawg & Lynne could just try not to make it about their hatred of BAA. That's tedious, and has nothing to do with the topic here.

tara, move away from the mirror. BTW, your anti choice friends are going after birth control and sex ed. You claimed they would never do that. Here you are, WRONG AGAIN!

PS. hows that abortion ban working for you??? OH Forgot AGAIN, it was DEFEATED. Poor wrong Lady Dog!!!

ROFLMAO, every time you post your ignorance!!!!

No, what's obvious is that you have no idea what I think about BAA, except that I think your obnoxious behavior to her, as well as your pet hound dawg's is childish, annoying, and disruptive. You're a hater without a life, who evidently has filled your empty Xtianist existence with vitriolic posts against BAA here, over & over & over, repeat ad nauseum.
Any comments about the topic, or have you completely derailed this thread (like so many others) with your petulance?

Once again you prove my point. Hate on, it only reinforces the PL position of controlling, frustrated losers.
Your hatred is poisoning this board.

Exactly! Unfortunately, people like this are incapable of distinguishing which is which and cannot seperate a person from their behavior(s). This is most likely why they can't understand why the ugliness they spew doesn't affect us like they think it should. Waaaa

More emotional nonsense. What is your POINT? It is usually good to have one.

Ever heard of CONDOMS??? No one else will either if sex ed is abolished, so the aids rate will increase even more. There has never been abstinence EVER, and there never will be. It is also never a good idea to push a fantasy ideal and ignore reality when the lives of men and women are at stake.

Good luck with your "abstinence" policy, and the rise in abortions if birth control access is curtailed as well. This is a PROVEN FACT but hey, if you choose to live in fantasy land, than it is all on you.

yeah, why does every one want to front about sex?? we are mammals and are meant to procreate. Sure, we can take birth control to prevent pregnancy but no where is abstinence is considered normal for humans, or any other mammals for that reason.
