I grew up in Marble Hill, graduated high school, and even went to college, and I am still struggling with making ends meet. I do not care about the sarcastic comments that I'm sure will ensue after I post this, but I will stand by what I said...Marble Hill does not need to spend 6 million dollars on a library in a town where everyday people are barely making it. The last thing I want to do is be expected to help pay for something that we can live without. We already have one.

The library here seems fine for this town. if they really wanted to put that much money on something invest it into the schools. But a tax increase to help schools here would probably be denied. people around here would be like, why do we need better schools? our kids don't need a good education or books to read.

We don't need ANY tax increases. We don't need ANY new taxes. What we need is for u lazy bastards to get a job and pay some taxes. We need to cut out disability welfare foodstamps and all therest of that nonsense. Work or starve. Quit putting thieves in the jailhouse. Hang em from a tree.

Are you ready to pay for it?
I might be willing to pay more for a new jail if the judges would fill it up with the druggies instead of leaving them on probation for years.
best post yet!!!!! think about it! 6 MILLION dollars!

Obviously, you do need a library because you need to learn. Hint: Double Negative. Oh that's right you probably went to Woodland and was one of those dope heads and did not get what us "NERDS" call an education. So I beleive it will do the town some good
I completely agree with you. Double negatives are almost as bad as run on sentences.:)

I say the town needs a new library. It needs to be up across from the city hall and police department. So Lloyd Ivey can sell or give us one of his buildings and up town and we can convert it into a nice two story library!

It's not the city. It's not the county. It's the library board of bollinger county that wants this tax. It will cost you around 12 percent raise in your property taxes. If you are paying 1000 a year it will cost you 120 extra per year. If you pay 2000 per year now you will pay an extra 240 per year. It's funny how the commisioners are keeping this thong quiet. And that the library board wants this voted on in a school election where it has an easier chance at passing. Get the word out. Stop this terrible waste of money

The board already sent all of their money for the parcel of ground to put it on. It may be wrong but I heard that it was about 100 thousand. It seems that a lot of this has been hushed up

It has been hushed up. The commissioners are wrong for trying to keep this thing quiet too. They need to be voted out the next time too. ESP the crippled one. He is not what this county needs.

I will vote against it, not worth it to me to pay that much more in property taxes.

I told the absolute truth. Bollinger county can't afford this terrible waste of money. Paid for by the working people so the trash can take their kids there for us to babysit them. And calling a cripple a cripple is not rude. It's the truth. But people like you don't want the truth.

I am a newer resident to this area and plan to perchase a home. The town of MarbleHill seems afully small to need a library that cost 6 million dollars. I have noticed alot of empty buildings that are somewhat larger they could move to. The thing they need to let the residents here know is how many books on a daily basis do they check out?

The librarian said she will keep holding elections untl it passes. If the people say NO it should mean No and if they say YES it should mean YES. Why keep voting if it does not pass? it sounds likea threat. Steal until she gets it!
