I've been hearing his name thrown around in an unfavorable light and it has peaked my interest. City Administrator for 10 plus years? Who is the City Admin now? Guess I could go ask Tammy.

Hold on to them reigns abit. I am not out to slander the man, I'm just curious. Yes, I've asked several and you are the first here to agree he is a decent man who has been and influence in these parts. I met his father one year ago and sat in the judges chambers, but I didn't know who he was or what family he had around. I do know he burned his foot pretty good, we visited nearly an hour about alot of topic - he even let me write a few details in his presence. Enjoyed the moment - haven't met any others of his kind.
I also know his office door was open four days in a row. I closed and tried to lock it every time I walked by, but there was a malfunction. I called every Shrum in the book and left a couple messages. I told county and city officials - the fifth day following my attempt I saw Ken gasing up at the Co-op and told him and actually followed up to see that he went and looked.
Sounded surprised but not overly concerned.

A similar thing happened last year when Fred Ritter had his orange bug parked unattended for three hours - windows down and it was raining and he had his keys in ignition. I ignored for two hours and then I wrote a note and attempted to pull keys when police got a call I was in and out of the vehicles around this orange bug for past couple hours.
Ridiculous as you screaming defense of this respectable Gary I was Just curious about. I'll move on to the next person of interest. I find myself SLIGHTLY curious about you now.
Peace out
Please ask first is my motto unless I am spewing about a bad experience I had in this community. Just the facts on occasion.
Thanks for your interest! Got any more of 411 to promote this fella?

Isn't he the bright bulb that decided to cut down all those trees down by the park to build that useless eyesore of a stage?

Way to make the town look better. Not!

Actually that would have been the Missouri Conservation Department that decided to cut those trees down. They are in charge of what is allowed to be cut down. Try getting facts straight before you start accusing someone.

Keep going please. Maybe that's why we don't have another City Admin and instead only have an Assist Admin?

I may be poor in the purse, but I am not taking handouts, nor am I begging, stealing or cheating to better myself! I don't sit on my lazy ass - I get involved. I do volunteer (work) and help all that have asked if after they hated on me first!

Sorry you all don't appreciate that in a person, no matter how new to the community. It's a crying shame someone from outside needs to come in to show what caring is all about. They don't know me, but sure do sound it!

Give us a good word (believable or not) then slap us in the face. Is that what I've been doing. Oh please forgive me, a slap in the face hurts no matter whom is doing it.

City Administrators are not elected - they are hired by the Board of Aldermen.

Actually in order to know what is going on in this town, you need to actually be involved. The only thing I am saying is get involved (really get involved), then you would know why the trees are being cut down. Attend some city meeting or park board meetings. If you put forth half the effort helping to fix this town, that you've spent trashing this town, you could help fix some of the problems. It is going to take a lot of effort and people to help fix all of the problems the our city is dealing with. The people in office can't do it alone, as a community we need to stand up and help to make this a better town.

Tammy is the Assistand Admin.- Mr. Sowers is taking over the Admin. position with the assistance of Mr. Sears who has been acting Mayor for over half a year now.

What more do you care to share about Shrum? Hmmmmm? Wonder what Ms. Tammy knows of him.
Have you read the Banner last couple of weeks. Sounds like there is a whole lotta shaken goin' on in that city office. Next will be the county offices.

Who will be the next Sheriff and will anyone else retire in the department like the city?? HMMMM?

I just know I couldn't agree with you more, but I don't know why the trees came down or even where. I wouldn't dare ask them at the meetings, with all the new comers. Maybe Bev (the newly appointed Alderwoman who made the editorial this week past in the Banner) could enlighten me if you didn't care to ellaborate?

Talking and listening isn't enough, I agree!

If these folks weren't so busy calling me stupid, crazy and the like, they would see I have learned alot in 5 months which should indicate I've been getting involved. I want a decent place to live until my relatives pass.

Please, haven't you ever needed a helping hand in life without asking for hand outs you didn't intend to earn at some time or other?

Thank you, I admit I know very little of politics. I do however know people, especially those with real names. Doesn't take me long to figure out who is up to know good.

The trees were cut down before they blew down. The stage--I like it and wished it was used more. I appreciate reading about the city meeting in the local Banner Press and would like to see everyone in the city try to improve the city instead just complaining about what is in the past.

I always thought Gary was an assisted Admin and so is Tammy. Tammy worked at the local library before she applied and got the job she has now. Gary has worked for the this city for a long time. And just like you and me he has his good points and bad points. I don't know about you but I think you should walk in the "the other person shoes" before you start complaining about the job they do. One person does not have the ability to change the world or a town.

From what I heard last night at the town meeting in City Hall, the tree I want to bark up is not that of an overly good man (with integrity) and perhaps he does deserve someone slandering him a bit or at least he can stand up for himself.

So what good do you know? For all I know all the good and the bad I've heard and asked about could be a lie. You know you can be in a room full of people telling same story. Does it make it true - NO!
