This stuff happens all the time, children and family services protect these child abuser and think if the house is clean the kids can't be abused. They need to be investigated someone needs to be fired over this. I cry for that poor little boy, he did not deserve this terrible treatment. I know how this grandmother feels. No one would listen to her because she is the grandmother.

This happens all too often. DHS will not listen to any complants about children they are to protect. I have tried in the past to help my grandchildren and was told it was none of my business. thankfully mine only have mental problems to deal with the rest of their lives. Grandparents in most cases are the only ones children will turn to because they know they are loved. DHS has become a deadbeat system sapping money out of taxpayers and in many cases actually put children in harms way.

There is a Yahoo Email Group that you may be interested in joining. It's a National Non-profit group created to help those of you in these situations. It's CPSWatch. Check Yahoo groups to join, but here is a link to the 'legal' team. http://www.cpswatchlegalteam.com/
Be sure and read "Parent's Guide to The System."
Hope this helps, and many prayer's.

This is horrible. And I thought it was bad that I didn't get my medical card taken care of by them right away. I feel so bad for this little boy's family that care's about him. His poor grandmother did all she could .. I feel awful for her though :(

This is so sad. The system as-is is flawed and cannot possibly function properly as long as complaints continue to go unfounded imo, due to the laws that protect the accused. Its a very sticky subject and one where much more consideration should be given.

Too bad the little boy's biological "mom" was a piece of shit too. He never had a chance.

I agree with the numerous comments from the forum about DHS being useless when calling. They think they know everything and they simply are poorly trained to deal with these situations. I experienced similar (not the death of) situation when my ex-daughter-in-law attempted to stab my son and kill him (she screamed she would) with a butcher knife one morning in this February. She also threatened the granddaughter. This sick, twisted and narcissitic family will continue to have access to time with these innocent grandchildren. It seems that this woman has had numerous issues with behavior from the time she was a child and was treated as well as diagnosed with Bipolar illness. The Judge granted joint custody even after this crazy woman attempted to kill herself with 30 Xanax. Too bad she didn't succeed! She now spends her week metally abusing my granddaughter and grandson. She is not fit to be a mother or have anything to do with her children. Her whole family has numerous criminal and psychiatric behavior issues which were hid by the family and not told to my family, even my son. Because of the hippa laws we cannot obtain any of that information but the whole town knows what creeps the family is. I have said for years that the social services need to be accompanied by a Registered Nurse trained in indepth child abuse. The whole country is full of this chaotic and incredibly sick maniacal behavior and they are doing nothing but sitting back and collecting their pay checks while children are dying every day! Kinda like the government as a whole.

I'm jus really confused if the grandma was such a good grandma then why didnt she get the custody?? I think this may be a cover up form Darin acciendently hurting Collin and Danielle protecting Darin and making up the whole insident??(Over hearing them fighting on the baby monitors)

how the hell do you accidentally hold a child under water until the boy fights and kicks and aspirates fluid and his lungs burst and the blood vessels in his eyes burst. Bruises from kicking in the tub will show up after death....there is no cover up. The boy was murdered. If he hit his head and passed out...there would not be fresh bruises from the tub...indicating that he could sit up if he fell...he was held under.....

May that little guy RIP.!!! There should be a place in HELL(oops)
for those two who did this to him. They'll have the rest of
their lives to think about what they did to that poor kid.
Collin's with God now. Those two will have to stand before God
someday for what they did to that little guy. Let's let God
take care of them.

You know, this is what is wrong with the world. A friend of mines little boy, fell and broke his arm at home. No foul play. She took the boy to the ER and the stupid ER doctor called in DCFS. So, why is it that when something is ACTUALLY wrong that nothing gets done?

The ER doctor is a mandatory reporter, as are nurses, teachers, social workers, etc. Glad your friends' child is okay.

As another child slips through the cracks of our govermental system, a DCFS worker gets there pay check an is glad its the weekend....DCFS workers are underpaid an understaffed an so they dont take the time to really look for signs of neglect or abuse, they want to get done an be on there way...as a child stands in front of them silent for fear they will be beaten if a word strays there mouth but wishing that someone would take them out of the hell they have to call home... My thoughts are with the grandmother of Collin..the only thing we can be thankful for is that he is smiling now an laughing an playing....
