Library and Firehouse for sale

Vice Mayor Profetta is tell us that we need to sell our main firehouse and main library. Ask the question is this good for us. What town that does not own a centralized services like Maplewood would not use eminent domain laws to acquire a piece of property to make their town better. Here the opinion we hear is that we should divest ourselves of these necessary services and depend on South Orange to rescue us from a firey death. Our school kids can go to South Orange and study in their library and so what if they get in trouble in their travels. This is inane and insane. The library sits on parkland and as such cannot be sold without a referundum, but once that passes watch all parkland become a commodity. Tell Mr. Profetta to resign and get some help because he has gone out of his mind. He has found a way to disasemble the town and create a suburb for South Orange. By the way who is going to buy that land and what deals have been made in advance?
