Tiffany Hardrick has applied for a Superintendent position in Arkansas. What can the people of Newark share about Dr. Hardrick?

They recently got rid of the art teacher, Mr Schwars
...my daughter and my son said that he creeps them out...he had an issue with my son too
something must have happened serious for him to be gone now.

I have since taken him out and he is in a better school for him.

Hello,
I am a very concern parent, my son is currently attending Pride Academy Charter and this is his first and last year. He is in the 8th grade and was transfer from Patrick Healy to Pride Academy for a better education. Since he been at this school, he have been suspended twice from the same teacher who teaches Art, his me is Mr Stewark. The first incident the student were line up in the hallway and my son friend was walking slow so because he did not want him, his friend and the rest of his team mates to get in trouble for getting to class late, he tap hs friend on the shoulder to advise him to walk up so they wouldnot get in trouble. This art teacher, who saw from the top of the stair said that my son abruptly push another student and report him to Ms Browser, who gave him a one day suspension. Mind you the Art teacher did not speak to my son for his side of the story and my son friend told the Art teacher that my son did not push him, this happen 3 weeks ago. Now the second incident is what we currently going through from the same Art teacher. My son was not feeling well and is getting over a cold, during class he had a terrible headache and putting his head down over his right arm was twirling his pen through his finger, the same Art teacher call him outside the classroom and said to my son, why he was holding his pen as a gun, my son told him that he only put his head down and just twirl his pen. The Art teacher sent him to Ms Browers, who suspended my son for a mininum of one day or until he receive a psychiatric evaluation from a mental doctor. I can't believe this is happening, my son never got suspended fom his prior school until he came to Pride academy. I really need help because the principal is not assisting and letting this happen. My husband have call NJ Department Of Education For Charter Schools and even the person at answer te phone said that this was harsh punishment against my son. We are waiting to hear back from the commisioner who handles East Orange Charter School because she was in a meeting. We will go to every local news if we don't hear back from the commissioner. PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN ASSIST OR GIVE A SUGGESTION WILL BE GRATELY APPRECIATED. My son is nervous and very scare to go back to school because of this Art teacher and Ms Browser.

Nobody have time to be playing around with your kids. If they misbehave or break the rules they WILL be suspended. I am 100 percent for discipline. Kids will break the rules and do whatever pleases them and then complain when they get punished. You all know the rules of the school, why dont the parents try and teach the kids to observe the rules of the school. Some parents prefer to curse the teaches instead of training their kids to observe the rules. Sometimes parents are the ones preventing the kids from behaving because when the parents talks badly about the teachers, they are in fact enabling the kids. Pride Academy is very high on discipline and they should not lower their standards to accommodate you childs BS.

it just irks me to no end, when parent/parents believe every ridiculous story ttheir child fabricates. They even repeat the Bull S..t story in this forum. Just read the BS story that a parent posted about her child who use to attenend Healy. Smdh, that story has more holes than swiss cheese. lol

I think that question was answered. The principal at the school along with most of the teachers are phenomenal. It appears the only problem is the over zealous disciplinary, Ms. Bowser, who it appears to have something to prove. I can only hope her own children are living up to her expectation and I'm sure none of them attend Pride Academy.

While I totally agree with the high standards of discipline which is associated with Pride Academy, I have to agree, it can be a little on the ridiculous side at times. While attending a school function, I was privy to a conversation where a child was suspended because he tripped over his shoe string. REALLY!

If you want to lack math and writing ability Pride Academy is the place for you. Imagine walking in a school where teachers see the worst in you and will do anything to keep you down in life. Pride Academy is one of the best schools in the country if you enjoy to minpulated and aggravated. If you are a person who enjoys to pay for your child to receive tutoring then this is your place ! If you find joy in being around uneducated and around the corner teachers than go for it. In general if you want to go to a trivial high school download an application now !

Pride academy is a great educational charter school. Mrs. Thomas is very kind and greets and shakes students hands in the morning which is very polite to do. Ms. Brower does suspend alot of students, but only does that as a result of bad bahavior. She is also very nice. The rest of the teachers are nice. Pride academy is a great school for your child to get a good education
Disregard this persons thoughts . It is clear they enjoy terrible schools as well.

Well what middle school in east orange do you suggest? I have researched the choices I have and the good middle school choices in east orange are non existent. I looked up test scores and prides were way better than the other schools. Give me another option, because I don't know any.

Well, you can replace fiona. In NJ in order to be a principal one must have experience as a teacher. Fiona has never been a teacher. Pride & Lady Liberty Academy are the only place she has been principal. She was a disaster at Lady Liberty in Newark NJ. She makes over $100,000. Test scores... really? Just look at how poorly students are writing on this forum!! PLEASE! Do not totally dismiss everything your children say is going on at Pride. Parents, stick together and get rid of teachers and administrators that are not delivering. You have the power.

I taught at this school for a year and was completely disgusted by what I witnessed. The staff are treated horrifically, unless you are part of the 'in crowd'. With that I mean your job responsibilities, bonuses, and pay are based on whether you are liked or not, not on your education or qualifications as a teacher. The students, especially the special needs ones, are treated terribly. PRIDE does not adhere to IEP's, nor follow accomodations including testing standards specified in a student's IEP. They say that they accept all students, yet will try everything in their power to get rid of the special needs students once they are there. I was so disgusted with my experience there that I wrote a letter to Governor Christie requesting greater oversight of all charter schools, not just PRIDE.
girl bye. Stop it. You mad because you didn't get paid higher bonuses.

If you haven't noticed no one cares about your dumb opinion. Pride academy has made me grow so much. And help me mature. they teach you responsibility. If you hate it so much and it's such a bad school just seND your child to hart middle. That's probably a better school for your liking

Teacher shot and killed there the other day. 10 PM Friday; unfortunately, the principal demands teachers work that late (principal holds up paychecks, especially on employees who resign, to get work out of them)

The school is a good school but they have bedbugs🐞&#1280 29;🐌🐛 🐜🐉. I'm glad this is my last year I'm so tired of having to look out for bugs. And keep my book bag off the floor. My mom makes me strip at the door and leave my book bag in the hallway closet. And Mrs. Thomas won exterminate many parents have complained. She says it's too expensive.
