Sure, it seems like an extreme reaction. But I can really understand how the librarians might feel when they say that this is NOT what they signed up for.
There's a point in all of this that we're missing- that social networks have eroded in out culture to the point that we have no structured place for kids to be. If these kids need structured time, then that should be provided for them. But not at the expense of the local librarians' sanity!
