Is there anything Pawlenty won't do to grab a headline?

He was a RESERVE deputy, not a real cop.

Maybe when the Salvation Amry employee goes down in a hail of staples we should drop the flags for him, too?

Things are starting to go way overboard.

You are a moron. I don't care if he was a RESERVE officer or a Deputy Sheriff. Either way, he died providing a public service. These reserve officers help out in numberous ways. They put their lifes out on the line, too, for people just like you. Today of all days, give it a rest and just say "Thank You" to all Reserve Officers, Deputies, Police, Fire and all those public servants who do so much for us.

The venom being spewed forth in this thread makes me embarassed to be a Minnesotan. Here was a guy that VOLUNTEERED his time to help out his community, and yet there's one here calling him a terrorist, one railing on the governor for honoring him, and one who think his sacrifice is lessened because he wasn't being paid. You people are shameful, bitter, and sorry excuses for human beings.

Has anyone given the thought that they should not let someone who weighed 300 pds be a reserve officer?
