Iowa Sex Offenders May Get a Break

Iowa law makers may remove the current 2,000 foot rule that keeps sex offenders living away from schools and child daycare centers.

They can't do that! Because then the childern will be less proected from them if the state or anyone for that fact gives them the brake they want. Why so they can go to schools, daycares, extra so another little kid could be hurt or worse mudered by one of them. I say we leave the law the way it is if any change is made to it it should be to exspand the distance so that the sex offenders can't get the chance of getting what they want and the kids are safe.

We should be increasing their restrictions not take them away. I think this is just the IDoC's way of giving up responsability of monitoring them. Our children are at risk enough as it is. I live Three blocks from a school and less than two blocks from two diffrent parks but some how I already have a sex offender living as a neibor. When are they going to start caring about our children?

We need to let the sex offenders have a place to live once they serve there time. With all these laws and regulations its hard for the offenders who have done their time to find someplace to live. I agree with Cajunsgirl that the laws and regulations should apply to child molestors not sex offenders. Sometimes being labeled a sex offender is wrong for some of the people whos crimes don't fit the punishment or label. If the crime was with a person under 18 then their should be a farther distance from schools and daycares

Because of people like you who believe these monsters should be able to live where they want.When have u ever heard of a sex offender not being a monster? True enough they may have not molested a child but a predator is what they are. While that monster was sitting there in his/her cell waiting to be realeased, plotting on how when they get out how they're gonna fix the reason they got caught. Most sexual offenders do go to jail(if caught) then get out and become repeat offenders.Most offerders DONT EVEN HAVE REMORSE AFTER THEY SEXUALLY ABUSE SOMEONE.So, to hawkeyes08 who lives in cupcake land, where everythings all sugar and spice and everything nice. Oh we have 2 wonderful children who are grown up. We have kept them safe ourselves. My wonderful husband has NEVER reoffended!:) Their are some who are sorry for their mistakes and some who aren't! God forgives!!!!

My husband is an awesome man and he is proof that not all offenders reoffend!I am very proud of my husband and will stand by my man and submit to him as he submits to God. You really should get more educated on the types of sex offenders there are. And you should learn what its about its not about sex its about control!
