Seriously, how many cities are between Painesville and Maple Heights? Why did that nutjob killer drive past all those cities to come to ours? In case you guys missed it I am talking about the guy who shot his wife's brother and uncle and killed her mother way out in Painesville.

To think just the day before xxxrayted made his 'animal on the loose' post and told us to look out for the serial killer coming to Maple Heights to hide out and instead somebody else comes to town. LOL

Do fill us in Maple. This stupid world series has prohibited me from watching the news. Leave it to Cleveland to have only one 10:00 news channel, and it's constantly being interrupted for some stupid thing or another.

Never mind, I found it. The shootings were all in Painsville, but the killer came to hide out here for a while before turning himself over to the Maple PD.

We seem to have this virtual Underground Railroad for Cleveland lowlifes. Their friends and family are now here, so of course they blend in. This is why the police should concentrate on these outsiders instead of residents who do indeed live here. For the longest time, Garfield Heights police set up speed traps at the Garfield/ Cleveland border line on Broadway. They are not interested in speeders, but to threaten those who cross the Garfield line who don't belong there. Maple should do the same.

What we need to do is set up more Sobriety Check Points. Last I read in our former Garfield/ Maple Sun, they netted only one DUI, but several Cleveland people with warrants or suspended licenses. That's the drag net needed here and should be a weekly thing.

I swear when I heard this case I was like LOL, how did xxx know they would choose to this city out of all ones possible to come to.

Yeah, Garfield had a reputation and Cleveland folks knew it. I remember when I was younger and had associates in the city and they wouldn't dare ride through Garfield or want to come out to Maple. That was also when Straka(sp) was on the bench and he wouldn't play around with people.

He was a drunk from what I've heard, but in his court, everybody got the maximum. That's what kept Garfield and Maple so clean for so long. That guy didn't mess around when it came to criminals.

I remember I got a speeding ticket for Garfield and just sent them a payment. I wasn't going to deal with a losing cause. In all other cases I go to court because if the officer isn't there they throw it out or at the least the prosecutor will take the seat belt fine off and offer you no points on your license.

I got my ticket thrown out of Maple that way when they sent me to Garfield recently. Our officers are so damn lazy they wont show up for traffic court. LOL

Officers are more than happy to appear at court, but the city doesn't want to pay them overtime which is most always the case. I knew a guy who was arrested for racing his motorcycle in downtown Cleveland. By his own admission, they were driving at a high rate of speed and zig-zagging through slower and stopped vehicles at red lights.

His lawyer advised him to fight the charges because his experience was that the cops never appear at court for petty things. Sure as hell, the arresting officers never showed up and the case was adjourned.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Virgo

If something is weighing on your mind it will start to affect your health, Virgo. It might make you feel tired or depressed, or it could dominate your thoughts. You know what you should do about it, of course, but it seems like too much effort or you want to pretend that it doesn't exist. Unfortunately, this escapist attitude won't make the problem go away and might even make it more tricky by the time you finally decide to tackle it.
