I hope city officials green light this idea.

YEA! Not everyone here in Woodbury has pockets full of money. I hope there is no 'image opposition' from the city or its residents.

You know that the good people of Woodbury will be outraged that such a slum store would dare open its' door in their fair city.

No, Kari, Woodbury residents won't be outraged. Woodbury isn't full of the snobs that people like to rag on us about.

My only concern is that Goodwill is going to build a new building? How about taking over some of the empty retail that's already here? How about the former CompUSA space, or soon to be empty World Market?

I hope they do NOT put a Goodwill in Woodbury... We don't need the element that those types of stores attract!

Afraid that the overcrowded St. Paul stores might send some low lifes' your way? Don't be afraid. We have a very nice GoodWill store in Maplewood ... and it helped MANY and definitely has not hurt anyone what so ever!

But, but, but .... well, you KNOW how those bargain-hunters are! First, they say they are just looking for a bargain. Then, they start lookin' at our women! Who knows were the moral decay and social decadence of a Goodwill Store would end?

Where is Connie when we need her the most?

I think it's a great idea! Think of the great treasures that will be donated by locals...I live in the area and the garage sales in Woodbury are some of the best. I'm sure the store will do great and benefit a great cause!

It absolutely brings down an area and eventual does attract the wrong type. This along with Walmart there is a horrible start to a good city going down.

Unbelievable.....looks like Stillwater has rubbed off on Woodbury. Obviously if Woodbury was all we think it is, Woodbury Lakes would not be going under.... Sure we want the luxury malls, we want to be the next Maple Grove. But we can't have this environment unless we're willing to pay for it. There's nothing wrong with being wise with your money.....that's the problem with suburbs, you get caught up in the snobbish community, and forget your morals, and understanding of what really matters....and by the way, what is the demographic you speak of? I'm sure there are many wise, wealthy individuals that would love to argue the benefits of a good deal. How else do you think they're rich? They're cheap! The wrong type you speak of are a mix of wealthy, wise individuals who really know how to shop, and not waste their vacation money on crap only meant to show of to friends......

Valu Thrift in Sun Ray Mall is about one mile from Woodbury, and that place is always packed. The Goodwill in Stillwater has already expanded due to increased business. I bet a Goodwill store in Woodbury would do quite well.

I think you need to get your head out of the sand and realize that goodwill is not just for poor people!! My friends husband is an oncologist and can afford to shop at the high end shops but choose to shop at goodwill to be thrifty and you can actually find a lot of good funiture to restore and frames to restore. You just need to have an immagination!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Gemini

It's easy to become distracted and confused because your mind is wandering about in all sorts of different directions. You're also in a highly impressionable state so will believe almost anything you're told now, whether it's true or a total flight of fancy. Be wary of muddling others by only telling them half the story or letting your imagination fill in any gaps.
