$1M fire bond referendum rejected in Mantua
MANTUA TWP. Voters rejected a $1 million bond referendum for renovations to the Sewell Fire Station Thursday night in a special fire district election.

The rejection was more a statement on how this vote was snuck in. Instead of being put on the Nov ballot which is only weeks away they attempted to pass this bond with little advertisement and little debate by having very few voters come out. Didn't work. Maybe this bond was a good idea, maybe I would have voted for it had I been given the time to research the issue. But I found out about it by chance 5 hours before the polls closed so I rushed over and said no.
