I normally frown on overly litigious lawyers, but in this case, I hope this poor lady takes the Tiki Bar for all they've got!

It's unbelievable that they let a drunk person drive away in a car that wasn't hers that had the keys sitting in it.

The Tiki Bar should make restitution to three parties -- the poor woman in the hospital, the one who died and the man who had his car "stolen"!

I agree. I hope she wins big time. In the meantime, let's keep her in our prayers, that she can get through the next year of recovery. Have a SAFE Labor Day Weekend, everyone.

a 55 year old woman should no better, but then again greed is in the context of the bar ...

Not sure what you mean Ann, the 55 year old woman was driving down the road in the middle of the afternoon when another car coming down the wrong side of the highway barreled into her head on. She probably tried to get out of the way but couldn't, or it happened so fast that she couldn't do anything. I'm sure that given a choice, this lady would forgo any cash settlement in exchange to not have the injuries she sustained.

Every few weeks there seems to be a case of DUI on route 18, on "normal" hours like a weekday afternoon. I'm afraid that one day out with my family I might get hit by one of these drunkards.

Fact is the girl could have been driving drunk from anywhere she is the only one to blame. She was a 26 year old adult that makes her own decisions.
If this is true, how was she able to drive off in a car that didn't belong to her? She did not hotwire it. These cars were kept with the keys inside in an open lot next to the bar by the attendants.

It's fair that she share the blame, but not 100% of it!
