Back to the initial thread...I suppose we should be thankful that no more job losses will hit the area, at least not at the hands of the County.

Every bean-counting entity is raiding ever coffer it can right now, like the NC "Education Lottery" which raided...yep, you guessed it--the education money!--to help balance the state budget.

I am waiting to see Governor Perdue's budget numbers on Tuesday. Sounds like the state estimated income for the budget about $2,000,000,000 over actual numbers. Cuts are going to happen and I hope Dare is spared some additional bloodshed.

i would love to see a landing field here. If we expect the military to protect us, then we may have to sacrifice some of our peace and quiet in order that they may train for deployments. And yes I live next to the Dare Co. bombing range so I see and hear them regularly now.
