I am so sick of these good ol boys spending our tax money on unnecessary construction and hiring their friends. It's crazy. Just look at our retiring county manager, who makes over 200k a year. He was fired from the Highway Patrol for gross sexual harassment!!!

I thinks it's nice that the new meeting place has been rushed through and is on schedule to be completed... while the other construction projects (in Hatteras) have no dates to be completed, though they were scheduled to be done months ago.

Since our beloved Cty Mgr is retiring, again... will he get yet another pay increase to stay?

Our country is in a mess. We quietly bail out Fannie and Freddie and nobody utters a sound. But if Dare County upgrades their infrastructure - some locals go ballistic. I can assure you - Fannie and Freddie will cost us and our children so much more than you can imagine. That should be what people are screaming about.

I agree about Fannie and Freddie but shouldn't people be outraged at the folk's in congress that allowed that to happen? Let's see..Pres. Bush in 2003 urged congress to put regulations on them but the Repubs did nothing. Then they lost congress in 2006.Here comes Pelosi and the Dems.The Repubs.realized they screwed up and strarted pressing for regulations on Fan&Fred.Then Sen.Dodd(D) blocked it then Sen Schumer(D) blocked it.And let's not forget the folk's who ran these govermnment created programs.All of the top brass was ex Clinton people.Enron got in alot of trouble for their crap shouldn't someone be going after them?
And yes Dare Co. does spend too much on itself.Of course I want new infrastructure but it should be done wisely.Have you been in the courthouse or the other Gov.buildings and look at how much the cost was.It doesn't look like they were thinking of the folk's.Sorry about your real estate problems Mr. Roach I know that's your busssiness but sometimes blame needs to be pointed out.
