That's universal health care for you! You may have insurance, but there's no guarantee that you can use it!!! You have to wait for ever. And sometimes you have to wait for years before you can see a doctor.

Did he know his attacker perchance?
Would it not be better to ask what he was doing in order to be stabbed in the first place at 2:30 in the morning?
One must also know the technical/medical details of the case before condemning the staff at the hospital.
There are some who are oh so quick to generalise on here it seems.
I bet if a Doctor had removed the knife then due to unseen complication the guy was worse off it would have been as easy to blast the NHS for not being thorough.

I can understand all that, but to sit & wait for 12 hours????

some of us walk about for years with choppers stuck in our heads looking for a doctor.

No, it sounds a lot like Ohio actually!!
See a lot of us here don't even have insurance, so we have a lot of the same problems. See, we could have open heart surgery on Monday, but we have to leave the hospital on Tuesday for lack of insurance & "hospital policy"!!

You got the wrong end of the stick amigo.
It's the government's incentive to encourage/force everyone to live healthy.
Or something.:)

You would think that the government would want people to live a healthy lifestyle, but...what would happen to the pharmaceutical companies? They wouldn't be so prosperous, and you know the government cashes in on their profits!!! It's a catch 22 isn't it?
