Aaron Fine did everything he could to avoid this poor little girl. She turned right in front of the truck. It was just a horrible accident and a tragedy. He has tried to live his life as a good person and is devastated by her death. Just thank God it didn't happen to you.
Any child on a bike can drive erratically too. It can be very difficult to pass children on bikes.

How about doing thesame to the 78 y/o BOOB that desroyed my life on 2/12/05. I was riding a bike for 43 years as an Effective Cyclist. This woman could not pass me like everyone else. She had to hit me in the back. I should have Died. Now I have to live for 40 years Paralyzed at T-4. These people need to Written test and Road test after 60. I VOTE too.

Not to make light of the situation, but what about the hundreds of illegal aliens doing the same exact thing all around this country.

One has to ask one's self, Why is there so little media press when it is an illegal alien, with no license, no insurance, no speak english.

Oh, that's right, we have Duvall now, He will make it legal for these illegals to kills us by automobiles next year ! Hurray !

I think that people should get all of the information before blasting someone like Aaron. He is not a killer, it was a horrific tragic accident and nothing more.

I do not know Aaron Fine. It was a very tragic accident...."ACCIDENT ". I can be sure he is suffering enough at what has happened to that poor girl and her family.
Being a resident of Mansfield I think highly of the Police Dept. While Mr. Fine was an officer he was totally wrong not having the correct license.
May all show forgivness to this fine officer because he will never forget this tragic accident.

A 10 year old girl is dead. Aaron is known by his neighbors to drive recklessly and with great speed. He also did not have a license to drive the dumptruck. He's been cited for a list of things. I'm sure he regrets it. But is that enough for this?

Um, child killer? Get a life. This guy is a cop - someone who has spent his career in public service. It was an ACCIDENT and an absolute tragedy for both his family and that of the little girl.

I suggest you get off-line and do something for your community instead of sitting on your axx and passing moral judgements, you Moron.

While cogent cases can be made for either side, yours is not one of them. You're simply throwing out inflammatory accusations with zero knowledge of the facts. Before branding someone a child killer, how about looking into the facts of the case (which I myself did before I formed my opinion that, while Mr. Fine is not blameless, this was just a tragic accident). If you were picked to be on his jury, would you objectively look at the details of the case - or is your simple mind already made up?

I have a few comments:
1/ First of all, I feel very terrible for the family of the girl. There would never a replacement and they are suffering from their loss forever. It might have been just an accident, however I don't think anyone could use that as an excuse to do things that would cause harm to others. Especially, this man is a COP ! He should be triple careful whenever he is on the wheel! It is not because he is a COP and he can drive the way he wants! I have seen COPS (not all cops) drive so recklessly, either on duty OR OFF DUTY !!!
For instance, when they leave DONKIN DONUTS parking, they turn on the light so they can get out and speed through the trafic......and guess what, it is not even for an emergency call, it is just because they don't want to seat and wait at the red light!!!!!!!(DO YOU THINK THEY ABUSE THEIR COPS STATUS?????.....BIG TIME !!!!)
2/ Most COPS are not educated !....their level of intelligence is below national average (again, I am not saying every cops)......Most cops are abusing their power !......most Cops doing detail at street work are not doing their job right - directing trafic- instead, they are either talking on cellular phone, or put their head to look down into the whole where utility workers are doing their job !!!! WHO CARE ABOUT THE TRAFIC!!!!....Just to mention a few abusing of power from COPS.
Having said all that, I have to admit that we do need COPS (GOOD COPS) to keep citizens safe. But ALL COPS must be extra ...extra careful when they do things.....because they are LAW ENFORCEMENT!...so they should not drive recklessly, they should stop at stop signs, red lights, they should not drink and drive ....etc...NO EXCUSE for them if they do !!!
It is easy for us to say that he will regret for the rest of his life......what about the girl's life ??????????not to mention that he drove without proper license !!!!! HE SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN THAT !!!!!!without having killed the girl, he should already been arrested and jailed for driving with no license (improper license = no license).......a licensed nurse IS NOT a licensed physician!!!!!!

I would like to know what gives you the right to talk for aarons neighbors,The neighbors have never said that so watch what you say. Talk from your own experience, which you don't seem to have so you start making things up

I believe that Aaron Fine should receive the max allowed punishment and lose his job as a police officer. He as a police officer would know that he was operating a vehicle which he was not licensed to drive and should have known better. Just because he is a police officer does not entitle him to any forgiveness, he gets paid very well for his position. If this happened to you or me, what do you think would happen? I just thank god that the state police were involved and that the incident was not allowed to be swept under the rug.

This is my second post to this string, I believe that someone might have flagged my prior comment for review. Freedom of speech, if you don't like what I have to say...don't read it.

I believe that Aaron Fine should receive the max punishment allowed by law. He is a police officer and should have known that he did not possess the proper license to drive that vehicle. I believe the fact that he is a police officer and serves the community should not diminish his responsibility, if anything he should be held to a higher standard.

I am just thankfull that this tragedy was brought to the light and was not shoved under the carpet.
My heart goes out to the family and friends of that poor little girl.

People try to make sense of a senseless situation. We try to distance ourselves from the reality of this happening to us. All involved are in my thoughts and prayers. SO are the people who are incredibly ignorant and closed minded as to want revenge on Aaron. My heart is with him and his family.
