A company from Maine came to the town almost 2 months ago and said they would clean up the debris for FREE, and immediately. They wanted the wood.
The town said "NO" because it had to go out to bid. Sounds like the taxpayers will be paying for another stupid mistake. This company owner is probably a friend of someone's on a board, who"won the bid." Call the company in Maine back and get them down here for free like they offered in the first place. Don't place the burden of cost on the taxpayer. Wake up Lunenburg!!! Your town officials ARE NOT LOOKING OUT FOR YOU!!!! Vote them out.

What is the name of the Maine company that offered to clean up the debris for free? To what use will they put all the small twigs?

How about you take money from all of the tax dollars we send you and get nothing back???? Every resident of this town pays out the yooo-hooo for very few services. We don't even have street lights in most of the town, our police department is understaffed, our fire dept is mostly volunteers and every time someone comes up with a 'great idea', we end up paying out the nose for it. How about free trash pickup????? How about some street lights??? How about a few more police on duty????

I'm in no hurry. Just try to get over here before the snow falls. I'd rather them do a good job than to hurry up and do it half-assed. Some folks are too tightly wrapped around the axle about this. Of course some need a reason to live and complaining about it fulfills that need.
