They do if they are democrat candidates. It would appear they all did in this case ... doesn't it?
What other possible explanation is there? They didn't vote for him because of his stellar qualifications ... did they?
This so blatant! Greene did not get 30% of the vote ... which would be surprising in itself ... He got 59% of the vote ... almost the exact percentage of black democrat voters.
Apparently not or all those speeches that McCain did wouldn't have always had a conspicuous black person right up front. You are stereotyping.

Non- sequitor ... this is not about politicians ... This is about the fact that ALL SC black voters chose a completely unqualified black over an eminently qualified white. Greene is unemployed, kicked out of the miilitary, and facing felony pornography charges ... and yet got ALL the black votes.
Turn this around ... and the media would be screaming racism from the rafters... but we get total silence when it is black bigotry and racism.
It does not get any more blatant and obvious as this ... and not just some blacks .... this is pervasive to ALL blacks ... where is the media?

Saying "ALL" is stereotyping. It makes you sound racist which doesn't get your point across. What kind of advertising did he have? He couldn't have had a word of mouth campaign. How did people know he was black?

Who else would vote for Alvin Greene? Do tell ... what are his qualifications for US senator?
Isn't it odd that 59% is approximately the same percentage of black democrats in SC?
No ... it is safe to say all, or nearly all his support came from the black community ... other than his skin color, what does Alvin Greene have to offer?

The Democrat explanation?? WTF? YOU said he was elected purely because he is black, now you're saying it was because black voters "thought" he was black based on his name? You TEA Party people are insane. Its just as likely the voter dislike the incumbent, the ballot may have IDd the incumbet, and they selected the first name on the list. You TEABaggers were howling "incumbets have to go" and the 59% who voted for him may have been following this advice.

The democrat explanation was blacks recognized Alvin Greene as a black name. I do not live in South Carolina ... so I can't say ... Is Greene a predominately black name? Apparently so.

I don't know why you think "Alvin Greene" sounds like a black name. It doesn't sound stereotypically black to me. Greene is historically Jewish and my husband's grandfather's name was Alvin. I think you are making assumptions. Again, what kind of advertising did he have? The people that voted for him had to hear his name somewhere. Otherwise it looks as if people were voting against the other guy rather than for Mr. Greene.

Let me see if I follow your argument. Alvin Greene according to your atatements, DID NOT campaign, he is unemployed and there for presumeably did not have the resources to distribute campaign literature with his picture on them, unless you can provide a photograph of one on display. My question for you is, if he didn't campaign, how did black voters across the state know he was black? I'd appreciate clarification w/o resorting to standard GOP/TEA Party personal attacks.<quoted text>

Did it ever strike anyone that maybe Alvin Greene won because he was seen as a political outsider? People across the board are angry at professional politicians who seem to believe the laws of economics apply to small folks, but not to government.

Some of Greene's votes probably came from people who really dislike established politicians. And how lazy was his opponent? Was he a political fat cat who just assumed that the nomination was his because he's one of the in crowd.

We had a similar thing happen in the state of illinois where the Democratic [sic] party forced the "outsider" to resign the lieutenant governor position he legitimately won.

Professional politicians are destroying this country. Why not an out-of-work veteran who needs a job?
