Actually real ganja brownies are nothing like Marinol ,Marinol sux. Many people try to actually put the ganja in the mix and that will give you a mouth full of grit and little high but as you say not very long lasting. My wife makes ganja food for HIV patients and let me tell you, you will think you drank half a fith of gin when you eat these puppies. They last about 8 full hours. She uses 2 cups of pure bud no shake or leaves which she covers with water. This is allowed to steep not boil for about 30 minutes. To this add two and 1/4 sticks -UNSALTED -butter. Place in the fridge and chill. The butter will rise with your THC in it to the top and leave all the grit in the bottom. Substitute this for the oil or butter in your brownie mix.Eat one of these and in about 30-45 minutes you will be intoxicated for hours. You can also make gel caps out of the ganja butter..

Thats why they call it school,

you should seek results that are helpful,

Introduction
Creating Marijuana food is not simply a matter of sprinkling a few ground up flowers onto your salad, though generations have tried cooking with it that way. Ever since Alice Toklas brought marijuana cooking to world attention in the French edition of her famous cookbook, millions of people have tried some variation of the old standby "Dump a handful of cleaned marijuana into a bowl of brownie mix, and bake at 350…"

Nobody has ever had much luck with the Toklas-style brownie. Even though they're mildly effective they taste awful and if you use good marijuana they're expensive. Cooking with natural marijuana extracts changes all that, and also adds some variety and interesting things to do in the process of preparing healing foods for yourself or others.

Marijuana Is Psycho-Inactive Until Heated

The psychoactive substances called THCs are present in natural-state marijuana in both active and inactive forms. Active-form THC amounts to only 10-15% of the total in a normal leaf. The remaining inactive THC requires heat to render it active, which is why you can't effectively eat marijuana right from the plant.

In unsophisticated chop-and-bake marijuana brownie cooking, the heat supplied by the oven changes only a small percentage of inactive THC into active form, so not only is much of the potency wasted, but it also takes a large and expensive amount of marijuana to achieve the high effect. In smoking, the problem is not the same. In smoking, the heat is supplied by fire, which is very destructive to the THC. The reason that smoking usually works fine even though the fire destroys a great proportion of the THCs in the flower is that inhaling even a small amount of THC puts it right into your bloodstream through the lungs.

In marijuana extract cooking, not only is the extract prepared beforehand, under optimum temperatures, for the proper amount of time for maximum efficiency of THC conversion, but it is also prepared in the form of either butter, lard, bacon drippings, cream, or as a liqueur, and is then used in cooking whatever dish you desire.

With marijuana extracts, you have almost 100% efficiency in conversion and availability of marijuana's potency, whereas research shows that a person smoking a joint is lucky to come away with 24 percent of the potential potency, and chop-and-bake marijuana cooking rarely delivers more than 40 percent potential. Cooking with natural marijuana extracts is up to 500% cheaper than smoking, and is in every way superior to chop & bake cooking.

The basic cost of marijuana varies tremendously, depending not only on quality, but also on where you live, the time of year, who you are buying from, what name the dealer has decided to call this batch, how effective the border police are at the time, and on and on. The marijuana market has, of course, become vastly more complex in the last 40 years. Gone forever are the days when lids were 10 bucks and the only fancy names around were Acapulco Gold, Panama Red, and Purple Oaxacan. With the advent of movements like the successful California Marijuana Initiative and the organizations that make high quality marijuana available to people in medical need, price doesn't have to be a barrier as long as you live in the right states. However, many people who could benefit from marijuana, and who would like to try the extract cooking option, are still going to have to pay market price unless they know a compassionate dealer - of whom there are many.

Pot only has an effect in the hippocampus region of the brain (the part affecting long term memory). When lab rats and monkeys are tested for (reasonable) amounts of pot, there is minimal damage. The Opiate receptors aren't touched any more than yummy food affects them, also explaining why its not habbit forming.

It has the (very) slight possibility of affecting one's ability to formulate new memories, not recall old ones.

Dudes, if you think Marinol sux, not only can't you spell sucks but you don't know how to get high,(on it). Do a little research into how pot gets you high. Anyway, the secret is about 45 min. after you take your marinol you hit a jay about 4 or 5 times then kick back and enjoy. Not only will your buzz last hours, but it will intensify dramatically. Iv'e been on Marinol for two years and the stuff is great. I guess it's not who you know, it's how you bong. remember:
Die high, or don't die.

Valerie,

You are a moron.

Marijuana is not poisonous at all! THC is totally harmless the the body, the only "poison" that you could possibly come in contact with is pesticides and things put on it to grow!

I have no actual prior knowledge or scientific evidence of this but if I were to guess it'd be better to eat it than smoke it for you. You make weed butter so the simmering of the weed in butter. THC is fat soluable... not the other carcinogens and such that are in the BUD not the BUTTER. I would think the worst part about eating the brownies is the fat and calories of the brownies!

Valerie, I think you have been misinformed or have been influenced too much by "Reefer Madness".

Personally I don't understand why any of this is even a question anymore. It changes many peoples lives and allows you to enjoy another aspect of life. Many of us don't need an artificial means to get high on life. Others need relief from pain and disabling sleeplessness. This medicinal plant has been maligned far too long without justification. So for you who have no need for it, remember to get high on life! Peace out!

Abstract. Methods for the synthesis of bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids and also 1-benzylisoquinoline bases, which are biogenetic precursors of the dimeric alkaloids, are surveyed in the biogenetic sequence of the alkaloids. Not only total but also partial and biomimetic syntheses of bisbenzylisoquinoline bases are covered.

I saw someone give it to a crazy unwanted goat one time, she had been uncontrollable.....saw her a month later, calmly getting her hooves trimmed....not attacking people. It was pretty amazing. Her owner said that once she calmed down, he didn't give her any more, but likes it as an option, if necessary.

you my friend are one for the ages, i wish we could all just relax with a spliff (perhaps a vaporiser would be more appropriate, to save us all from lung cancer)in a bath and listen to some cool jazz, and maybe some blue oyster cult, because they are marvelous.
