I first tried M when I was 16 because there was such hype about it, I wanted to know. I remember it burning my throat, being really strong. When I was done, I just waited. Nothing. I thought, this sucks, what is it supposed to do? I had been with a friend. When I got home, I picked up a book to read and the letters were dancing all over the page. I think they were either clogging or doing the two-step, but it was the coolest thing. I started humming, "If You've Got The Money Honey, I've Got The Time," Then I realized that eventually the effect wears off and I decided that if I cant be high like that 24-7 with one joint, forget it, it is too much effort to keep doing it.

So I can feel that good with some effort?
I don't need to be high like that 24-7 but with a little effort I guess I can feel that great some of the time. Thanks for the tip! You rock!!

Mary-Jane is illegal here too, but by no means is it any less prevalent, so I guess it's really not much effort. I visit Mary-jane regularly and I think it is a far healthier alternative to taking a sleeping pill every night, or any anti-depressant, or drinking a beer for that matter. In my opinion the worst thing about MJ is that it makes you feel alright with being bored (that's why so many stoners seem to lack motivation). However, different psyches respond differently, if you can't feel relaxed stoned, then really, it's not for you and can even lead to schizophrenic disorders (ever heard of the guy that thought he was an orange? it's NOT an urban legend, I've met him!). The key is that it's fun to have fun, but you have to know how. Enjoy things in moderation. Ultimately if you are incapable of controlling your appetite or internal dialogue (some people are unable to keep their mind quiet), then don't touch anything unprescribed; you're bound to either become an addict or have a mental freakout!

You can. Many people eat it to alieve nausia from chemo, eating disorders, AIDS. Thirty years ago, I knew a lady who had glaucoma with terrible headaches, she was in her 60's. She tried MJ, and said she got the first good night of sleep in 20 years...of course it was not legal. One of her sons said he would turn her in if she continued to do it. She went to her grave never having another good night of sleep.
I have a friend with Primary progressive MS, that has muscle spasms that actually leave huge bruises on her legs. The standard treatment does not prevent it. But when she either eats or smokes it ....the muscle spasms stop.
That being said, many people who benifit from this herb are people you don't see, they are not the hippie on the street corner, they are shut-ins in wheelchairs and hospital beds. Their main goal is to reduce their pain and not throw up their lunch.
ANY herb can be poison if taken in the wrong amount... if you eat too much rosemary....it will affect you as a medicinal herb....and you might not like it either. Chammomile as well, every one's sleepytime tea...yup an herbal DRUG
Do not get me wrong, it is NEVER OK to give someone a food with an additive unknown to them. But I think there are still a lot of people who are just plain scared because they have not seen the benifits it can have on some people.
A comment here earlier was from someone who smoked a joint when they were 16. I'd like to ask, did it make you a drug addict? Did you go on to harder drugs? Did it ruin you life? She's right ...it doesn't do all that much, but for those people who get pain and/or nausea relief, it makes a WORLD of difference.

you can get extrememly high from eating it! don't let this other person fool you. you CANNOT die from marijuana overdose. it is physically impossible. there has never been one documented case of anyone dying from ingestion, inhalation, or vaporization of marijuana. it is the safest herb. with all of the benefits medically and mentally, it is a much better option than legal prescription drugs that can be life threatening. much better than alcohol that can blow out your liver and cause massive heart failure. when you look at it that way, it doesn't seem so bad does it? toke 'em if you got 'em!:)

That is the medicinal part that helps people, who for one reason or another, do not have a good appetite. It also seems to help rabbits and goats that have gone 'off feed'. They'll get the 'munchies' too. They go back on their regular feed and don't demand a 'fix' or anything like that.
I saw someone give it to a crazy unwanted goat one time, she had been uncontrollable.....saw her a month later, calmly getting her hooves trimmed....not attacking people. It was pretty amazing. Her owner said that once she calmed down, he didn't give her any more, but likes it as an option, if necessary.

not only that, it also acts as a painkiller. purley natural with minimal side effects. it works for my arthritis. i would rather take a medicine that some of the side effects are laughing too hard, eating too much, and sleeping, as opposed to puking on yourself, pissing yourself, destructing property, or beating on your spouse or kids. oh and did i mention stealing from your family and friends. all of those which legal, alcohol can cause a person to do. along with all of those prescription pills that are highly addictive. and methamphetamine which is truly poison and highly addictive. and easier to manufacture and hand out to small children.[ which does happen unfortunatley]. kids are skipping out on weed and going straight for meth. weed, is not physically addictive. it's all in someone's head if they think they are addicted to weed. there are no withdrawl symptoms, but, cigarettes, which are very much legal, give you the same affects as heroin when trying to quit.

Let me guess, your mommie buys your ice creamuThe reason you don't like the minchies is you already have a lard a** right? There was another phsyco, ECA, who wrote a lot like you.She also preferred Dairy Products over Marijuana. Please read how deadly Ice Cream and Milk are before you exploit your ignorance here anymore. Milk/Ice Cream have killed more people than pot!

Are you saying Marijuana made him think he was an orange? This sounds like he was having silly-sided shroom trips, not pot.I have never seen anyone have these type of psychological changes with marijuana use.I do know however some people do react different to different mind altering substances,I would like to meet the Orange he sounds like a lot of fun... I can take a Lortab 7.5 and drive for 16 straight hours. They speed me up.My wife,on half that dosage gets groggy and has to go to bed. I am 52, smoked/vaporize Marijuana since I was 19.I am a Medical Marijuana card holder and pot/hemp activist.

you are more likley to have a "mental freakout" from prozac before you would maryjane. she is just not that evil. i ate some shrooms once and thought that i was one with the universe. i never get that way on weed. relaxed? definitley. hallucinating? only if it's laced with shrooms. this whole idea of yours is what was freaking out the american public back in the 30's when they made marijuana ILLEGAL. it was not always so. there is now medical evidence to support marijuana's posititve benefits for alzheimer's patients.[among a host of other things.]see, it helps those who are already losing it. now how can something that does that, turn you into an orange? and is there any left?

i think that us potheads refer to your type as brainwashed and paranoid. judgemental and paranoid. high on your horse and paraniod. let me guess, you have a college degree and you think that it makes you somehow superior to anyone who doesn't? or you drink alcohol or take prescription pills and think that you don't have a problem? you cannot accept that marijuana is a natural and healthy herb because you have seen too many "fried egg" commercials as a kid and you tasted it once as a teen and it made you paraniod? guess what? it does that to everyone the first time ot two. you are not alone nor are you in a special league. your teenage brain was not developed enough to handle weed. that's ok, kids are not meant to ingest drugs. their brains aren't developed enough yet. try it again as an adult and see how you feel then. also, it does not burn you have a lot of reading to do to get caught up with the times here.
