Minnesota sex offender seeks to be freed from program

John Rydberg showed no mercy on the night in 1975 when he broke into a rural Wisconsin home and raped a young couple as their son slept upstairs - or four years later, when he raped a Minnesota woman at knifepoint in front of her children. Full Story

What terrible reporting! WHY would he possibly be the first man (predator) to be released since 1994? He has 90 offenses and they are considering letting him back in society and you don't mention WHY?

Considering only about 1 in 100 of sex offender's crimes are actually known to authorities, I say let him rot.

MN's ridiculous sex offender program did not help this guy.

90 Offenses? Why is this even being discussed by a parole board? We can re-consider again we he is 89, by then his little tallywacker won't be working.

He "doesn't think" he will harm anyone if he's let go. Wow, why not just say “I will” if the opportunity presents itself. The first person to come across this guy on the streets needs to take matters into their own hands and make sure he doesn’t harm another innocent person.

90 offenses....there is no way an educated reasonable person ( the f'ing judge?) would consider releasing this a-hole. If i was that Mccartney dude I would whack this fool if he ever gets out.

What a pathetic job our system has done for this guy to not already be in more hard-core lockup and to even be under consideration for release into the society he has plagued. Why are we wasting judicial time on this. He lost deserving redress, oh, victim 2 perhaps. Maybe then an "I don't think would bear some weight." It's proven he'll reoffend. How many times has this slime said this before (80, 89). This is just ridiculous, I'm not sure he deserves food and water. If I supported capital punishment - I'd say tag. Since I don't, I say let him live with his kind in beastly isolation.

If he wants out, why doesn't he just reach outside of the cell, grab the keys, and let himself out? It is no different than the other two s e x offenders who are on the loose!

He was jailed for raping a man and woman during one of his attacks. Then after he pled guilty for assaulting the husband a wife, he escaped from custody and raped a woman in fron of her children According to the report in the Star-Tribune, he is still fantasizing about attacking a family. Put a bullet in that scumbags head and get it over with!

I wish they would let him out. And, the next day I wish they would find his mutilated body in the Mississippi River.
They put a half-way house for sex offenders next door to a friend of mine and one of the "housemates" stalked her for two years then broke into her house twice. He's now in Oak Park Heights.(ask him how he got the big scar on his forehead!)
