Only 11 more days to read posts on this site!

Then 99% of the people here will go back into hiding and we won't here from them again until the next election cycle.

We won't see them at meetings, we won't get phone calls from them, and we certainly won't see them publicly ask the questions and provide their input.

1% of the people here actually care enough to get involved where it will make a difference. In meetings, by calling the elected officials, by writing to editors of newspapers, by putting their name to their words so that they can take pride in their thoughts and comments.

My hat is off to EVERY candidate, newcomer and old-timer, farmer and CEO, college educated and life educated, tall and short, man and woman, liked and not liked, who, by putting their name on a ballot has unknowningly brought the anonymous wrath of this site and this election into their homes and upon their families. I may agree with them or disagree with them, but my hat is off and I thank them for their efforts, for without them, nothing happens. Good or bad, nothing.

Best of luck to:

Borgo, Doyle, Gray

Adkins, Beemsterboer, Lucas, Phelan, Wolfe

Forsythe, Nylen, Popp, Robbins, Struthers, Surdey, Vuesko, Zitkus

Elder, Lenz, Mancke, Murphy, Pietrzyk, Ryan

And every other candidate that I may have truly unintentionally not listed.

They have the desire, determination and guts to make a difference. I am very proud to see so many people willing to give of themselves and their families.

To everyone else, get involved beyond the anonymous posts of a provingly worthless web blog. Get out of your cozy, safe home, away form your computer screen and make your thoughts, dreams and desires known in a productive manner. Educate elected officials with your thoughts. Experience first hand the processes that go into organizing, discussing, creating, deciding.

11 more days.

I'm counting the seconds.

I know you mean well, but, you don't know me, nor my family, nor all of the things we have been involved with volunteering over the course of several decades. To make the assumption you have made in the above paragraphs is quite frankly, insulting. If we didn't care, we wouldn't be here.

With your involvement I would guess I probably do know you.

No assumptions made, no insults here. I attend many community meetings, as I'm certain you do as well. Very, very few people other than board members attend. You see the same thing I'm sure.

Thank you for all of what you do, you are one of the few!
