Played with them for 2 years and left because of who ran it (he is no longer with them) , now we play in New Lenox for the Knights/Warrior league (nlyfa) and we love it. We will never go back to Patriots. For what we pay, we get alot of things a nice banquet,ATI physical therapy at all games and practices if the kids get hurt and awesome fields to play on West/Central high schools. Our teams are great with good winning records. I dont know anything about who runs the patriots now.

we have played with this team for over 3 yrs now,and the previous people running the show where in it for the kids but did not have good people skills and could not deal with a lot of the parents issues as well as the coaches. The coaches r not paid, they r fathers who put in sooo much time for these kids to learn the game of football!!! The pee wee team made it this year to the playoffs( and very proud of them)the older teams seem to have problms because of ass a nain parents who think football is all about winning and only play time for their child, not as a team sport.Manhattan Patriots have the ability to become great if only people, parents coaches together stick it out and become 1 for children and the team can unite!!!!!!What is wrong with u parents who r obviously living out ur dreams in ur children....let them learn, and grow as a community let the team grow and u would be very surprised what can happen!!!It sickens me that Manhattan has a bum rap,and all I know is every team has there own drama and issues!

Well, it costs a lot, they do not go out of their way to pay anything extra except a little trophy. You drive very far distances to get to areas that you are sorta scared to be in. And most of the parents do not get to know you if you are new to the league. Worth the social skills for your child, but not a great way to save money or time. I believe in giving up and sacrificing for your children to grow, learn, be a part of a team. I truly feel they did not appreciate all the time and effort we gave to the team and they do not call you back when there is an emerg. The schedule changed multiple times, and it did not feel like a team effort. Not really too happy with the program myself.

Oh this is good u talk about a team sport well thats funny because when your a team u play like a team.(meaning all kids play together as a team meaning all kids learn the plays, try passing, catching, running, and blocking) How can u play like a team when u got the same 4 to 5 kids sittin out all the time. I can tell u how many times i drove everywhere wasting my gas n time to watch my kid sit on the side lines. Yeah your right i should of just sat there takin it up the rear but i wouldnt considering that my kid wanted to quit half way thru the season and how hurt he was if thats what this is all about then maybe u should have try-outs then bc i was new this year n my son has played before n is really good n i know im his mom but if he sucked i wouldnt be on here writin what i am writin. Kids r my dreams i forgot my after i gave birth so save that crap to we as parents only want the best for our children n if we dont speak up for them who will? Funny story though i never saw any of the coaches kids sittin out so maybe next year only put them in about 10 plays all season n see how they react to that maybe then u will realize what the rest of us went thru!!!!!!!!!

The Varsity team this year was having some troubles(We went 0-9, and got 1 touchdown all season), but the lightweights, on the otherhand went 3-5, and the Peewees advacned to the second round in the playoffs. But, even theough the team may lose alot-you will play no matter what even if u suck or are great!

yo mamma, If this teams record is as ohhh says and you son is the second coming of Payton like you think, then he could make a huge difference and be worth a few wins. Why would any coach not put him in. My opinioon is that your kid is not that good. There is a possibility that by putting him in, the coaches think he'll get hurt or even lose worse than they do with him playing. But my biggest guess would be because your kids parents are a couple of know it all complaining a holes that the coaching staff does not need hanging over thier backs telling them to get thier kid the ball. Try supporting the coaching staff and see where that gets you or at the very least, take time with your kid and teach him all the knowledge you have. It's up to you the parent to show your kid teamwork, fundamentals and humility of riding the bench. The coaches are there to apply it to the game of football. Some kids have it, some don't. He might prefer the bench or it could just be his father trying to relive his childhood through him.

Yeah so....um right....i guess all you parents support your children to be upset n want to give up on something that they love soooo much. thats all i got out of all these comments!!!!! First n foremost I support any parent that volunteers their time to any kids for sports. Im a coach as well, I have coached everything, so save that for someone else. I just think everyone deserves a fair chance whether they are new or not!!!!! And another thing im not afraid to go anywhere, im not from the sticks! Another thing if my kid was bad i wouldnt have said the comment i said.....He is awesome in everything he does because i taught him everything and have coach him his whole life!!!!! Everyday i am being a parent and working with all my kids so they can improve on whatever it is!!!!! And no im not living my DREAM through my kids because they dont let women in the NFL.....wow that was an awesome comment!!!!! Oh yeah one more thing i have talked to the coaches and been understanding, but when a teams winning or losing by a whole lot then WHY not put the bench warmers in? I am talking bout all the kids i seen sit.....it was just ridiculous!!!!!

This comment is for the people that are questioning the rumor that there will not be a program this coming season because of the lack of varsity players, the truth is that when people that live here in Manhattan go to the other programs because there unhappy about something here, they go to surrounding towns and expect to play and not be benched because of you not being a resident of that town, we are losing kids because of that, please dont think the grass is going to be greener on the other side . I urge parents to please express there issues with the patriot board im a perfect example i did have issues the way the team was being ran , of course i guess i thought that the easy way would be to switch pragrams but that would be unfair to my children when there friends that their growing up with are not there. Bottem line is that if you have any questions or concerns please contact one of the football directors im sure that the issues can be resolved and until we send out news letters that we are not going to have a program this here please disreguard everthing you here that is neg. remember this a program for kids, and not to turn this into an issue between us parents thank you for your time.

Don't tell me you coach now for the Patriots as a cheerleading coach? With your attitude, I would definately take my daughter some where else. I know they are desperate for cheerleading coaches......but you should be somewhat of a positive person?

Well, I guess this is were parents disagree. Do we want a winning team or do we want the kids to have fun? I guess it all depends on who you talk to?

For us the grass was greener on the other side,we have so much more playing for New Lenox then we ever did playing for the Patriots.
