Well mr. horchata, go too burrito loco and see what a real good burrito looks like and taste like.I did not like my lettuce burrito at all. wheres the beef???? wheres the beans, onions, cheese, the seasoning. no hot sauce or napkins offerd. Iwas very disapointed, bye bye!!!

I felt the same. The food was decent. Took a long time to get, but they had just opened, so gave them a break. BUT, I did go to burrito loco the next day and for the same price, got a much bigger burrito, didn't have to ask for salsa. They gave it to me. I think, in time, these guys might get better, but, bigger burritos, chips and salsa while I wait for 30 mins. and don't make me ask for salsa!!

I'm sorry, I apologize for your lack of knowledge concerning my business. My name is Nicholas Cole. I am one of 3 owners and we have lived in Manhattan a few years; 2 of the 3 owners have attended Lincoln-Way East and Central High School as varsity wrestlers. If you drive around the neighborhood, you will see a house with a large Marine flag outside hanging by the steps. This is where the owners(myself included) are from. Next time your in town, come inside and look for yourself at our limited can products. Our salsa is very mild for one reason....we offer pico.
To answer your post concerning Elwood, If you were from the area...you would know that our town uses Kraus Cable for Internet, Cable, and phone. They service Manhattan/Elwood and all posts on this website are done 2 1/2 feet from the register on the labtop next to the Pepsi machine. Thanks again for your constructive criticism no matter how inaccurate it is.
What a lame response. You are going to sit and argue with the customers and tell them you were a marine and a varsity wrestler. Your a tool! Make a good product and people will come back. Stay off topix. Really no one reads this shit so ignore it. Thanks for explaining how the internet works to us backwoods people. You are calling out customers. Its not constructive criticism its saying you suck ass. Congrats and welcome to manhattan.

There food is excellent. The meats not like charcoal dog meat like Burrito Loco...so I can see why the Burrito is not as big, if I want to be fed with a lot shitty steak then in goin to Loco, but for good food I'm eating here and the food is fresh no slimy shit that's got me wondering if I'm gonna be praying to the toilet god! The service was slow the first 2 times I ate there, but now it's awesome. If you don't like the place then....hahaha...guess I will get my grub faster!!

The mexican food was okay. They need to bring in some illegals if they want the place to survive. It's being run like they have never run a restaurant before and they is not good for the Manhattan Hillbillies. They want it good, cheap and ontime. Many people that will eat here are local union people. So they are the laziest bunch of complainers around. When they work, they want top dollar. When they buy, they want cheap, good and fast. THis is a tough town to cater to until the unions finally fall and the 150 gets replaced by the honest mexican workers. Keep trying Horchata, its a tough town to make it. Typical Democrat, they don't want to see you do well, unless they are getting something out of it.

I agree with most of the comments. So far NO CONSISTENCY with the food. It does take a LONG time for your order to be prepared. The Hot Sauce is HORRIBLE. It tastes like pizza sauce with a few spices added(NOT GOOD). And the fluctuating hours are weird.
I've gotten 3 burritos, on 3 different occasions, and every one has been drastically different. Size wise and meat wise. The meat is also real CHEWY. Too bad, Too. I'd like a place in town that was reliably good.
First off get your food quality and portions sorted, then pick up the speed, If you can do this you'll be fine . If not you'll be the next failed Manhattan business

I'm really surprised in how everyone is acting. Bashing our military is by far the last thing you should be doing if you want to be taken seriously. I agree that the owner should not have mentioned the fact that he is a vet but that is no reason to bash out service members. I lived in a military town for 3 years of my life as a civilian and if anyone has ever seen a welcome home ceremony or has even better been one of those men/ women welcoming a soldier home then you would understand how I feel. There are a lot of American flags in front of people's houses in this town. Keep in mind what it stands for, not just that its pretty and everyone else is doing it.
As for horchatas, I have yet to eat there and this has only influenced me to try it tonight. I don't want to drive to New Lenox everytime I want Mexican food.
Good luck guys. I hope you make it and I will personally give you my feedback.

Glad to get you worked up. At least I passed high school English.
The food was great by the way. I got plenty of meat. Maybe they were holding back on you since they knew there was no pleasing you.
There is no way you can judge a business within its first week open. I think it's great. I won't let some unintelligent jerk try to convince me otherwise.

Went there over the weekend. Chips and guac were really good. Chips made fresh and were really crispy. Steak burrito was good but a tad salty. Then we got the taco sampler. The steak taco was good, chicken had a great flavor, my hubby liked the pork, neither of us liked the beef. Too much " flavoring" on it, It was more like beef sauce. A bit pricey but was more impressed then we thought we would be.
The people working there were very friendly and explained everything on the menu and what is in everything. The wait was really long, next time we go there we will order over the phone and pick it up.
Good luck to Horchatas- I applaud people who start a business, especially those that stay in their own town.
