You have got to be kidding me?

If some loser you know wants to be ASSESSOR, then go get petitions and launch a campaign.

And I think if you made an attempt, you could get J Doyles email address and send him an actual message he may read.

How pathetic, if you have a friend who wants to run, don't align him with any current politician. Have him list himself on the ballet and run on his own merit. It won't take much to beat the current corrupt looser.

In this respect Sir Jaime only knows how to politically complain. Not actually get 'er done. Ol' boy Joe should go, but Jaime can't show him the exit.
There's a better man - right Dave.

You have to be a certified assessor before you can even run for the office. You need a lot more than just a desire to run.

lol --pathetic responses. Of course you have to be certified. This person is CIAO Certified.

Of course you can run on your own ticket, but that means campaign funding and some people don't have that type of contact.

I would think anyone running for mayor would want a new assessor running with him.

Really, do you even know, or could you fathom how complex a situation it could be for someone to win Oldani's seat as Township Assessor? Oldani works out of his house which most people don't even know where it is. Second, just the transfer of computers and files from his house to the newly elected's house could prove to be a giant nightmare. I see lost and missing files if not outright data and computer crashes. The transition could be a calamity. Manhattan Township does not have a separate self standing office like Joliet or Frankfort Townships do. The County would have to be involved to police the transfer of the office and its contents. And what does the Village Mayor have to do with the overall operation of a Township wherein the unicorporated area is greater than the incorporated area? Certainly, based upon age alone Oldani has got one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel, but likely he has got someone lined up (probably a relative or a Spesia) to take the reins when he can no longer fulfill the duties of the job. If not, believe me you Rhonda Novak is looking out forward. Turning around a battleship sometimes takes a real, real long time. Sleep on that Manhattan. And remember this family name - Walsh.

Mr. Doyle there are three boards that are in immediate need of fixing, they are:
1. The Village Board - which is penetrable easily enough,
2. The School District Board - of which your family member is a part of and of which is bleeding everyone in the entire Township; stop the bleeding now,
3. The Township Board - controlled by Walsh and Ardaugh and can be first adjusted by electing a new Township Assessor, of which such elected person sits on said Board.
Lastly, kindly ask Bill Delaney to either move or stay out of it.

And while you are at work cleaning up your mess' from aligning yourself with all the wrong people, why don't you break from Kraus and let some real internet and television do business in this town. Ever of the tiger.

Joe Oldani should resign and not consider running for public office again! Have you had the pleasure of calling Mr. Joe, he is the most rude and condescending public official I have ever spoken to. I called because I was being over assessed on my taxes like many other township residents. His solution was to move. Is there somebody out there who is interested in running who is CIAO certified and can collect the 150 signatures before 12/14/12? I would gladly volunteer my time to help defeat Mr. Joe!

I would gladly help a new candidate obtain the signatures too. It is time for changes in this town. Time to clean house when the elections are held. From the village trustees to the school board. This over spending and tax burdens on the citizens need to stop. With that pending increase in taxes in January, some of us are screwed. I can barely afford to make ends meet as it is. If the housing market were better, I would leave Illinois in a heart beat. Did anyone look at the salaries of the school district employees lately? If they have no money coming in, how come these people get a raise every year? Why has that not been frozen?

Never had any sort of problems with Becker and have never heard anyone complain about her. She was always nice to me whenever I went into to the village hall for anything. Perhaps you have a problem??? Name calling is childish.

Nope not a WAMO. Moved her 10 years ago. Maybe the person doing the name calling should run against her if they are that concerned. Most people treat you with respect if you treat them the same way.

No Matter who gets elected, there isn't a damn thing any of them can do, because we live in a state where crooks and thugs rule, who take our money and a President who is committing suicide with our economy!
It's time to move to CANADA!

You are on to something. Treat with Respect. That is what she lacks in fulfilling her capacity at the Village Hall. It's on tape.
