Tragic. One would think the firefighters could have done something to stop her or save her life.

You're a complete idiot. How can you possibly try and put blame on the fire fighters? When they rolled up, she was already outside on the balcony and jumped shortly after! What could they have done? Absolutely amazing how dumb the average person is. Imagine, they had to witness it and now you play Monday morning quarterback and somehow say they should have done something. Please, find your own third story and reenact this horrible incident.

Well it sounds like she didn't give them a chance. Besides if someone wants to die badly enough no one is going to talk them out of it. It is sad. Unfortunately some people cannot see that life will get better.

Wow! You are also an idiot. Yes this guy made a dumb statement, but so did you when you told him to reenact the incident.

she took her own life - they should investigate why!! off topic nobody said anything insulting towards the fire dept, keep your dumb remarks to yourself and go rant on your own journal rather than disrespect a victim's memory by your stupidity.

First off, you said, "one would think"... but I think you failed to do so when you were writing this message. The firemen did attempt to do something....They were only there for a minute....They tried to talk to her, but as soon as they did she did a perfect swann dive into the cement.
What did you expect them to do, Jump underneath and catch her? They were rolling to a woman who had supposedly overdosed on pills. Would you expect them to bring one of those kiddy bounce houses and put it under her? Dude how about using some common sense dude.
I don't feel sorry for the woman. I do feel sorry for the daughter she left behind in her wake and the firemen and police officer's that she effected by exposing them to such a selfish act and grew some act.
Again not the place

I often wonder what else people could be doing besides making useless comments about such serious social issues.(not everyone, mainly U R HUA)

Lives were destroyed: her child's, the responders', her parents' and friends'- and obviously her own. Isnt there something more fruitful you can think of to say? Perhaps if you experienced this kind of loss in your world, you wouldn't be so flippant.

OK HUA...I suppose you are above "average". Sure they sould have done something.4-5 of those guys with their equipment on could have tried to catch her or put something on the ground to soften the impact. Try anything! Oh, they "witnessed it". My heros. They may have gotten hurt...boo hoo. Your probably a fireman..sitting around all day watching TV and playing pocket-pong.

Wow you truly are a complete Moron! First off why would the fireman be rolling to a medical call in their full gear? Believe it or not everything you see on TV is real!
There is no way that the fireman had enough time to get underneath her. What are they supposed to put on the ground to soften her impact? They had sixty (60) seconds to make contact with her and she jumped? For you to blame and start calling these guys names is absurd and rediculous.
Although it was criticized by someone earlier...I would have to agree w/ I believe it was HUA that said you should re-enact this scene....But you know what, I would hate for those responding to have to waste their energy on you. Maybe you should just go out to see put on some concrete shoes and eat a gun! That way the fish can eat you and you wouldn't waste anyones time!!!

Just shut your mouth since you have no idea what your talking about!

English beauty dies in roof plunge after her marriage split from John Huston's son By Olinka Koster

Charmed couple: Danny Huston and Katie Jane Evans, who committed suicide this month
The glamorous British wife of Hollywood film star Danny Huston has died after jumping from the roof of her flat following the collapse of their marriage.
Mother-of-two Katie Jane Evans, 35, is said to have found it difficult to accept their six-year union was over.
The former model had already moved to Los Angeles after leaving the luxury home she shared with Huston, who is currently starring in the comedy How to Lose Friends And Alienate People, a film based on the US experiences of British journalist Toby Young.
It is understood that Emma Parker Bowles, the niece of Camilla, was with her at the flat on the day she died, but was out when Miss Evans jumped to her death.
Evans is said to have first called police to tell them she had taken an overdose, but jumped from the building before police arrived.
The pair were seen as a charmed couple after they met at a party in 2002 and married within two months.
A year later, she gave birth to their daughter, Stella.
However, she is said have struggled to cope with being the wife of an actor, as his work often took him away from home.
The marriage collapsed amid allegations that Miss Evans was addicted to drugs and alcohol.
Last year she launched a divorce case, which shocked friends and relatives, including Miss Parker Bowles and actress Anjelica Huston, Huston's half sister.
Huston, pictured in the 2006 film Alpha Male, is currently starring in the comedy How To Lose Friends And Alienate People
Katie couldn't get over the fact the marriage had failed,' said a London-based friend.
She wanted a divorce but there was lots of anger and bitterness.
They married too soon, they barely knew each other, and Katie didn't take to life with an actor as well as she thought she would.
She was on anti-depressants and she had been in and out of rehab clinics for months. She was very up and down with her moods. On the night she killed herself, she called the police to tell them she had taken an overdose but she jumped before they could save her.
Everyone is devastated. No one, including Danny, can come to terms with what has happened. When Anjelica was told she just collapsed in tears.'
The couple, married six years ago
Both Huston and Miss Evans went to renowned English public schools - he attended Millfield in Somerset while she was a pupil at Roedean in East Sussex.
They each had high-profile friends and relatives.
Huston, 46, is the illegitimate son of directing legend John Huston and London-based actress Zoe Sallis.
The chemistry between Katie and Danny was immediate,' said the friend.
Within two months they were married and they moved into a stunning house in the Hollywood Hills. When their daughter, Stella, came along a year later, they were over the moon.
But Katie found it hard that Danny was away so much for work. She felt very much on her own with the baby.'
Records show Huston offered his wife around 11,000 a month in support, said to be half his estimated earnings, and the couple shared custody of their daughter. She moved out to a flat in Manhattan Beach, a Los Angeles suburb.
She jumped from her California rooftop at 5pm earlier this month, but details of the tragedy have only just emerged.
Her friend said:'They had shared custody of Stella and Katie got the house, but it had too many memories.'
Miss Parker Bowles, who lives in Los Angeles, was unavailable for comment.
A friend of Huston said last night:'He is stunned. Harsh things sometimes are said during divorce proceedings but he and Katie had moved beyond that. This is a tragedy for everyone.'
