Shop at the SB Galleria, only mall in Torrance now. Otherwise go to Cerritos or South Coast Plaza, which aren't that far.
Del Amo Fashion Center is the worst mall.

The mall mgmt doesn't know what they're doing.
Lots of closures and stores that just sell junk.
Looks more like an indoor swap meet than a mall.
Security is a joke there, they only want to chat with pretty girls and hang in groups.

The City of Torrance Really needs to Twist the mall's arm to get this palce upgraded! As a long time resident of torrance its sad to see such a decline, yes the new section looks nice, but the area over Carson St. is unlit and the area near sears look depressing. The interior stores are mostly a mix of swap meet vendors and probley the most gross thing is an eyebrow tweezing cart on your way to the food court!im sure Mall Management does not live in this city but we do!,and pay high taxes for it.As well as not having police as much there, although some of the security officers look very good, i would not hire kids to work security,in the state that it is now,ie.weekends can be jaw dropping with groups of loud annoying people.Anyways hope that this mall can get it in gear, and help save the torrance area as we once knew it.

isn't there a health law that forbids teeth whitening in the middle of the mall. it would appear to me that it's unsanitary to open your mouth while all those people and their germs are going through the mall.

The South Bay Galleria is not in Torrance. Since I've lived here, a woman was stabbed to death in the parking lot at lunchtime by Red Robin, an idiot with ran through with a gun from police on the Mervyn's side, robberies occur there weekly, shots were fired in the parking structure, teenagers urinate on the sidewalk under the east entrance, car thefts are very frequent, one-quarter of all Redondo crime occurs there, a stabbing occurred in the theater, cell phones are snatched in the food court, cars are frequently stolen, and there's plenty of shoplifting. The restaurants are notorious for hiding their B ratings when they get them. And MOST IMPORTANTLY, they have no place to lock a bicycle, so although I live close and prefer riding my bike, I will now drive the extra two miles to Del Amo. Hey Galleria Management, you picked the wrong person to drive away. GET A MODERN BIKE RACK!! Its not 1965 anymore. I hate to drive away Redondo tax revenue, but I am the kind of shopper you need. I spent money there DAILY and I always kept an eye on the riff-raff. I reported them and I stood loyally as a witness when they acted up. Earn my loyalty back, because you just lost 15 years of good will.

Maybe if you really checked out offices, you would find that sanatised chairs and seats are not what you think they are. Its the treatment and cleanliness, not the area.
