L.I. Doctor Charged With Spying On Patients In Bathroom

Detectives said that a Long Island physician was accused of installing an air purifier containing a built-in hidden camera in a restroom within his office.

As a former patient of Dr. Pacienza's I was surprised to hear about this scandal. He's a superb cardiologist, well respected within his field.

Has anyone else wondered why someone this intelligent would be foolish enough to make such a purchase and then have the receipt sent directly to his office where his staff could find it?

One would think that if Pacienza was looking to perpetrate such a crime, the last thing that he would do would be to have this receipt sent to his office, and instead to his home address.

Especially given the obviousness of the receipt, which documented the purchase of spy equipment.

At the very least, Pacienza would make an incompetent spy.

It is almost as though this situation was orchestrated to lead directly back to him, and in such an akward situation, that even if he is innocent, he will appear to be guilty.

As for the detectives on this case, they will look for what is the easiest solution; not necessarily the right one, as we have seen in the past with Detecitive James Mcreedy and his attempt to coerce Martin Tankleff into confessing to the murder of his parents -- a crime I am convinced Marty did not commit.

I also wonder if Mcreedy (Mcgreedy) was not in some way involved with the conspirators who murdered Tankleff's parent's to frame him in efforts to cover up the facts in the case.

And then there's Mcreedy's business partnership with Marty's half sister, Shari Mistretta, which only makes this situation more bizarre.

In any case, in regard to Dr. Pacienza, we should not rule out the possiblity that he may have been framed.

I actually went to this cardiologist several years ago. I'm a female. I thought he was very strange, in fact so strange that I took my nuclear scan results and went to another cardiologist who told me that they would not even read his results because they didn't trust them.
He moved very slowly, like an old old man and spoke very little and also very slowly and there were never any patients in the waiting room all 3 times that I went. I doubt that he was a highly respected cardiologist. He was not swift at all.

My husband has been using him for 2 yrs. He always spoke into a tape recorder and never really spoke to you. He gave him all the right medicnes and the right tests. I dont think he would be that stupid to have an invoice come to his office for his help to find the whole thing is very strange

Thanks for shedding some light on the subject. I was a female patient before the arrest and still am. He is one of the best Cardio doctor around. Innocent until proven guilty..NO??

I have been going ot this "doctor" for 8 years. At 30, I am probably one of his youngest patients. Every time I went for my yearly check up, he would basically judge me for being single and not having children which always pissed me off.

NOW, I want everyone to know that I am switching doctors - obviously - WHO would stay with this pervert? And they are charging me 75 cents a page to send the records over to my new doctor! I just got the total - 66 pages, almost 50 bucks! Is that a joke? What a scam! And to charge patients and penalize them for not wanting to take their clothes off in front of a pervert?? I am sorry, but I refuse to pay this guys legal fees! Just letting everyone know what kind of person he REALLY is. For all these patients who have known him for year - yeah, so have I. He always creeped me out and now he is ripping me off and it makes me sick.
