Driver who struck five vehicles in St. Tammany was fleeing a shoplifting

The man who sped down Louisiana 59 in St. Tammany Wednesday evening, striking seven other vehicles with his pickup and leaving one person in critical condition, was fleeing the scene of a shoplifting but was not being chased by police, authorities said Thursday.

No ,he was crazy. He sped down my sister in laws street yesterday, before exiting her neighborhood. He purposely ran down her neighbor with his car. The neighbor was getting her mail and tried to run from him but he chased her with his vehicle severly injuing her. The police told my sister in law that he had recently been hospiltalized for a mental breakdown.
