i feel very sorry for the thomas family. my heart goes out to them. i know they have been adopting children for a very long time now. i find it strange that there have been no other accusations from any previous children that they have taken in. i believe you have a teenage girl who likes to listen to no one and feels she doesn't need to answer to anyone. you give someone a little discipline and look what you get. did anyone ever consider that she had the other children involved with this ridiculous story and maybe threatened them to go along with her accusations so she could have her way. Probably not!! i feel deeply sorry for the next family that has to deal with her nonsense. it's a shame that she doesn't care how she is ruining other peoples lives. Paybacks are a b*&ch and what goes around comes around.

What is wrong with this city??? He pled no contest meaning he raped that child but doesn't want to say he raped her. If he hadn't he would of said he was innocent. 3 to 7 years after 5 years of probabtion? Thats like saying ok we'll let you continue this for another 5 years. Not that I'm condoning violence, but Sarah Robinson receive 5 to 10 yrs for allegedly cutting a girl. And your saying that because he says he doesn't want to admit what happens he gets less than that??? WTF. I hope he gets raped in jail, and forced to drink his piss. NASTY MOTHER F**KER.

uh.......they plead no contest. This means they do not admit guilt but do not dispute the charges. Read the article.uhhhh......duhhhhhhh.. ......
But, I do think they are guilty. If I was charged with those charges and knew I was innocent, I would definately fight the charges.
you can dress it up anyway you want to but if your not pleading not guilty your admitting guilt

From what I read some of the children had scars from the beatings they received. Reading that sickened me. You find it strange that none of the children who this couple had in their home previously have stepped forward and complained? I see it strange, if they did foster children over the years, none of them have come forward in their defense. That might tell a story in itself?

I don't want to argue with anyone. I know these people and I have met their children as well. Carol & John were good parents. You people read what the media wants you to see. I know that God will show everyone the truth some day. Carol is a great mom. And even more a friend to all. I have kids and have NEVER had a problem bringing them around her!!!

Perhaps some of us have lived in another time in our lives a life that seemed to be one thing to others when they were around, but was an entirely different story once those others left and we were alone in the house with our parents. We lived a lie.

When that door closed Dad beat us and our Mother. When she had to go for stitches she lied and said she fell and cut herself when the glass she was carring broke. The truth was my Dad had thrown a cup of coffee at her. When she put her arm up to protect herself the cup broke and cut her.

Dad wasn't the only one who abused us beating us with his fists and a belt. Mom would beat us with anything she got her hands on when she got mad too. We had black and blue marks on us, but back then not even the gym teachers asked what they were from. Not even when it was obvious that sometimes the marks had to be from a beating with a belt. People just turned their heads back then.

Both of my parents were totally different to the outside world, warm, smiling, friendly, joking. Often eager to help a friend or family in need of a favor. Dad volunteered at the fire company. So when I hear some say oh but they were such good people, I question what they might really be like to live with when no one else is around to tell. The outside world doesn't always know what goes on behind closed doors can be very true. But today it's changed, kids today can tell someone and they listen. I believe the odds would show there are a lot more cases that there has been abuse when reported then those that the accusations have been found to be false when investigated.

I am not here to make excuses for anyone, but lets face it people we weren't there when the assumed sexual assaults took place. So no one can say if they are guilty, or not. I know the Thomas family and I truly don't think that they are capable of something like this. The plea was put in because they don't have the strength or the finances to fight it anymore, "THE JUDICIAL" system of this corrupted town made sure to that. Oh and ask yourself why all the other charges were dropped in the plea bargain people, I'll tell you where to find it, pick up the book "a child called it" from Dave Pelzer, read the whole thing and then tell us what you think.
BINGO!! That is exactly what I told my daughter the day I read the first article on this. I said "this is straight out of "A child called it".
She read it in school, absolutely agreed. I am not saying these people did not abuse, but I think that these accusations used that parallel this book seem a bit fishy.
