Dear Mayor Bracey:
This is just a reminder to you fromall of us who supported you to become the mayor. We trust your judgement as to the next top cop in our city. All we ask of you is, please do not promote Arnold.
Thank You, God Bless

can Whitless take those USELESS shot spotters with him and the next top cop allow the police to do real police work, just not security at baseball games. If the school district can do it at football games without police, let the Revs hire rent-a-cops for security!

Brenner/Whitman; Bracey/Kahley...soon after the first homicide in York City, back to the naysaying! Sadly, most of the bitchers don't even live in York City.
Sure hope Dave comes up with a new slogan other than his trite: "The city is safe". He won't know what to pi$$ about if Acting Chief Kahley straightens things out; don't hold your breath!

I will grant that this is a step in the right direction. Only ONE step, lets see a few more.

All I have to say is put up or shut up, when I see it I'll believe it. Until then I'm sure it'll be the same old donut eating ritual. Please prove me wrong, I would love to be wrong.....

Already this administration has a credibility gap... pretending that Whitless "retired" is serious terminologic inexactitude.

He was fired for incompetence, plain and simple. I know it, you know it, everybody knows it.

The York police force wasn't much before he became commissioner, but under his rule, it became the joke of the East coast. Only a few days ago, I had a serious crime committed against me. I was telling some friends about it, and one clueless person said, "Did you call the police?" Me and everybody else in the room laughed. "Why bother?" was the universal reply.

So, firing Whitman was a step in the right direction... but nothing is going to change until the whole force is terminated and replaced by actual professionals instead of street thugs. And that's what they are... a group of clowns that solve non-crimes through intimidation while letting the drug dealers and gangs run wild.

And, for what it's worth, I live and work in the city. Because of that, I have enough experience to never involve this pretend police force for anything... ever, never, ever.

After reading what I wrote above, I wonder why I bothered writing that... the new mayor has shown she doesn't care what an ordinary middle-class resident thinks... for her, you're either an establishment figure or very poor.

The people in the middle don't count... and they haven't for years.

... and people wonder why York sucks.

Change. That is what York needs. Whether it be the Commissioner being replaced or if he would stay, there just needs to be change in the way that things are done.

Whitman leaving will not make the city's crime drop. What will make the crime drop is proper policing and "preventative maintenance", as I like to call it. Don't brag about arresting someone when they commit a crime, PREVENT the crime.

Yes I know that the cops are not mind readers and cannot see the future, but learn from the mistakes made in the past, don't REPEAT them....

...end of my rant, good luck commissioner and everyone have a great day!:)
