Wouldn't surprise me if Donivan is telling the whole truth. I bet a lot of our tax dollars are paying for criminals to commit more crimes. Kinda like welfare.

Donivan may not be perfect BUT what he says is absolutely true. There are a lot of people getting these benefits that are nothing more than leaches on society!

The money is supposed to go to victims. Correct? Just from reading the article, it sounds as if Mr. Donivan was doing the public a service in exposing a loophole, whereby criminals are receiving money intented for victims.

I know Mr Donivan

He is a man of integrity and does things what is right I think this is going out of proportion. I worked with him and he looks out for people for the right reason

I think people need to make sure they have all the ducks in a row because Mr. Donivan does everything the right way

i think it is good the people of pa know where their tax money is going, to criminals who get hurt or killed while committing a crime? so State workers get laid off and jobs cut, meanwhile this department hands out moeny to criminals and Donivan tried to do what is right, deny claims for criminals, and tell people about it and big brother steps in to shut him up?
i think this state office has alot to answer for to the tax payers.

Burn in Helll Donivan. Your no better than Hitler hijacking the law for your own power play. You should have your citizen revoked and put in prison with a harm braking rocks all day.

Victims Compensation is paid by all defendants as part of their fines/costs. It's NOT taxpayer dollars in this fund.

i dont know what is worse, the taxmoney that goes to the criminals who get hurt or killed doing their crimes, or the fact that the state is wasting yet more resources trying to charge Donivan for this? Really? and a drug dealer named cheesie dead? and somehow cops who , of course, are also druggies, are responsible? the wrong innocent man in prison?a whole trial and jury was wrong? okay, really?
im sure Donivan arrested alot of people during his time as a cop so i dont doubt all those people will take turns on here . lets start the jerry springer episodes.
but bottome line, he stepped up to stop criminals from milking the system. And now you have alot of people not wanting to speak up for fear of losing their jobs. yet more fraud waste and abuse by the state and its system that rewards criminals.

It appears that he had the right intention but wrong execution. With a police background, how did he plan to document these events? You can't rely on word of mouth and file file paperwork claiming events occurred based on heresay. On a different note...why should this all be an issue at all. The monies to be distributed are not required by law, it was done as a benefit to victims. Therefore, if the agency felt the monies should not be distributed then they are not obligated to do so.

The Victims Compensation Assistance Program is not funded by tax dollars. It is how ever a program that is committed to helping Victims of crime recover after a crime has been committed against them or a loved one( with out any discrimination). This program not only provides monetary compensation but also provides information to other services availible to Victims. The information is very helpful in empowering Victims on the path of recovery. There are specific laws and guidelines that govern this program that must be followed. If they are not followed, then discrimination could occur. I will wait for the investigation and the court proceedings. This is why we have a legal system. Is it infallible? No, but it is the best system availible any where.

Isn't it nice that all the nice things that people are saying about this pig. HE GOT CAUGHT. I hope they toss in prison and he gets cornholed every day. How many times do pigs lie and cheat if it makes them look good. And then we allow these pigs to become judges. How many pigs act like Vic Macky and get away with it because they know the system or their worthless labor union protects them.

Whenever someone is in triuble AND they say the words ..." I am not perfect..." , they have something to hide.

Just like the low life that the Springettsbury Officer got into a big fight with and ended up killing a few years ago. The family make s abig production that he " wasn't perfect".

No kidding , he had a criminal record a mile long.

NONE of us are perfect but when someone has to mention this , they have something to hide.

Donivan was the Chief of Police in Dallastown when there was a murder. He had the crime scene washed down before it was properly processed for evidence.

If there was a problem with tbe way money was handed out , he should have worked through all of the legal avenues rather than practicing being a judge.

Wow! You need psychological help. It is possible based on your short outburst you fit the profile of a serial killer. May I also recommend an English grammar course and use spell checker, it's free.

Why is the state giving our tax money to anyone? The perp should pay the victims, not the state.

This is how the cops of today work. Young punks with a badge and gun who can't hold a real job. These Nazis like to beat up on the elderly and threaten everyone and anyone because this lame government of ours have given the power to do so. You are better off doing nothing if someone assaults you or anything else for that matter because what we have is a bunch of hicks with a real bad attitude calling themselves 'law enforcement'! The job of a cop is to SERVE & PROTECT, not lie, and threaten. Call your congressman and Senator and complain loudly about these incompetent thugs. The days of the real cop are long gone.

Obviously this state program sounds corrupt and shady, surprise. If anything, I hope this trial exposes the many loopholes. On another note, glad the INNOCENT victims of violent crimes are being compensated,it would be nice if the US govt could provide more compensation to the families of our men and women who are killed or severely serving our country...............Best wishes to Mr. Donivan.
