My husband and I just saw Wicked. It is very seldom that I cry just by someone singing. After the first song sung by Vicktoria (Elphaba), I was in tears. I know I will see this again and again. But it won't be the same unless she is playing Elphaba!!!

I saw Victoria playing Elphaba in Tampa in March of this year. It was my first time seeing Wicked onstage. I thought she was awesome too. However, as great as Victoria is in this role, I saw Wicked in Chicago just last week and the role was played by Carmen Cusack who also did a phenomenal job of portraying our favorite heroine, Elphaba. I always wanted to see the original in NY, but it didn't happen. I plan to see it again and again too and try to keep an open mind about new Elphie's and Glindas.

Is it just me, or am I the only one who thought that Victoria's voice was very inconsistent??? Glinda was ten times better, IMO.

I saw Christina and Victoria in Philadelphia on the 3rd and I must be honest, when Victoria sang "The Wizard and I", I wasn't impressed. She stepped it up by "Defying Gravity" but I am still not a HUGE fan. I agree with Kris up there with her voice was inconsistent. I loved Christina as Glinda though, she was amazing. I am going to see it on Closing Night and maybe I will enjoy Victoria more.

im sorry, but jessica and kris? i have to disagree. i though victoria was astounding. her voice was beautiful and she has the ability to hit some wacky notes that make her sound even better. i loved every minute of wicked, but i would never see it again if victoria matlock wasn't playing my favorite witch of all time, elphaba.

I saw Wicked in Philly on Aug. 14, and victoria was wonderful! She was so amazing! If any of you have heard her sing on youtube, the audio makes her voice sound about ten times worse, so i hope you are not judging from that. When she is live she is awesome.

Just saw Wicked yesterday and it was amazing however have to agree that Victoria's voice was inconsistent (not bad but inconsistent) and Glinda was amazing!

i thought the singing and acting was amazing as far as victoria and christina go. and people saying that victorias voice was inconsistent obviously do not understand that her voice is suppose to be like that and different from glindas. they are two opposite characters. they both blew my mind and bc of them id love to see wicked again and again.

I just saw Wicked, for the second time. I saw Victoria, as Elphaba, and was not entirely impressed. She (at times) sounded as though she was screaming. Maybe her voice just isn't my "taste."
I saw Coleen Sexton the first time I went, and was completely blown away, not only by her voice, but the way she played the role. I'd love to see Wicked, again...but would much prefer seeing Coleen over Victoria.
I was lucky enough to have great seats for both shows - about 20 rows back (orch ctr) the first time, and 6th row (orch ctr) the second time!
