Maybe the church members should go to the execs of CL&P for a donation. They can certainly afford it on their $4.2 million/yr. salaries plus bonuses!! Try it and see what happens!!!

TRY TALKING TO SOMEBODY AT FAITH LUTHERAN IN EAST HARTFORD. THEIR WINDOWS WERE MADE BY THEIR CONGREGATION. THEY ARE MAKING A WINDOW FOR THE NEW ADDITION AT CROSSROADS. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS.

The windows look ok to me! They're going to spend $65,000 on two windows, on a building that is tax-exempt? Why not raise that $65,000 to feed, house, educate, or provide medical care to the poor? That church is a business just like any other business, trying to make a profit.

This church (and all others for that matter) have never paid a nickel in taxes. Why don't they use some of that money they saved to fix their own damn windows. While they're at it, my house could use some new windows, too.

organized religion at it again...asking for hand outs for windows....I like the comments by those who suggested donating to the needy for food, education, etc.
Also like the comment from whoever said the CL & P exec's can donate the $$.
oops! forgot, they need new luxury boats.
Sickening.

It's not a Catholic church, dummy.

I think it is a great idea to do this. The Church and its windows are part of history and should be viewed as such. There is something very comforting about those windows on a Sunday morning. They are just beautiful and deserve to be restored and preserved.

St Mary's is currently involved, like every holiday season, in providing a Thanksgiving meal and weeks worth of groceries for 30 families in Manchester. Once that is complete we will turn around and collect more food and gifts for another 35-40 families. We just finished a collection of "change for a change" in which we colllected our change over a month and donated it to Episcopal Relief and Development. Don't judge before you know. These windows are in terrible shape, broken down window frames and they need to be put back into there original place in the original church.
Badger your right we aren't a catholic church and we don't need to pay off sexual abuse claims.

I think the tax payers should pony up the money for such important historic artifacts, after all the tax payer doesn't mind funding anti Christian art exhibets. This is Tiffany we are talking about!
What are you talking about?
Try to organize your thoughts, then form a cohesive sentence. Thanks.
