All my life I have heard about men that would not take care of their children and having to pay child support, and if they don't or get behind then they have to pay heck for it. But what about mothers that don't take care of their children and their children are taken away cause they are not fit to be a mother and are ordered to pay child support and don't, and they think it's not fair or they should get by without paying , but when the tables was turned they raised heck if it was gonna be a day or two late. I think women should be treated the same as men in this matter.

no matter who gets child support the mother or the father they should have to produce receipt for where the money goes it needs to be spent directly on the child

If your child is taken by DCBS and you are ordered to pay support and don't, it goes on your record as back owed support. The same goes for men or women. If you go into Clay M. Bishop's office there are women on the wall just as well as men that are thousands of dollars behind in child support, and Judge Clark is no easier on a women. If you owe the state back support they will come after you eventually regardless. My son's dad owes so much back support I can't even tell you, he owes me personally, and the state and they haven't done a thing to him. I'm hoping with the child support round ups going on in Laurel county they'll get him.

Children also require a home to live in. I don't think one parent should have to pay the living expenses.

So children don't need food, a home, medicine for when they get sick? EXCUSE ME, but most "Dads" pay the bare minimum of around 200 a month, does that pay for the food they eat? No...it pays for less than half. Does it pay for the amount of diapers, baby wipes, formula, medicine, clothes, and everything else a baby or child may need? NO. If you're going to be a parent then don't try to scrape by with the bare minimum. If you're just going to pay for clothes and school supplies you're basically useless and have no right in calling yourself a dad. Do you even know how much it costs to raise a child? I mean really costs? Every month I'm out around $50 just for diapers, then throw in milk which around $16 a can, my baby girl goes through about 8 cans? Can you multiply? Thats a 128 dollars...hmm does 200 sound like a lot to you? Lets not forget the baby food, and anything else she might need.

Oh and another thing, the older a child gets the more expensive they are. When they start school not only do they need food, but they need clothes, money for school, their school supplies, and if they're in after school activities what do you know that runs into even more money. If anyone here can raise a child on 200 a month please be my guest and prove me wrong. Most mothers try to be just that a mother and provide for their child but a dad trying to get by on the bare minimum makes me sick. Where are most of these "dads" when their child is sick? Are they the ones staying up at night trying to comfort the child when it's in tears? Not usually. I would do anything for my child, I pay my bills, and after that I have NO extra money, I do without to make sure my child is took care of. My baby's dad is out of the picture and has never offered to help. Don't get on here and act like paying child support is the worst thing that anyone has asked you to do. That child is part of YOU, and YOU should take care of that child, half and half!

O and another thing you are a woman you choose what to do with your body. You have controll over what happens unless you are raped so to avoid all your drama and argueing about it and in front of child like its there fault they where born. Go to the red light turn right by gulf, go to the Detention Center take a right go under the bypass bridge and on your right there is a building called Clay County Health Department they will be able to help you they have any kind of birth control you want and it's your choose what kind you want or need just as its your choose not to use birth control so stop running your mouth about the problem I just fixed it for you. And no I am not a man I am a women I have children and their father has not paid child support all thier lives and now they are grown but I could care less I have worked and supported my children I made the choice the have unprotected sex so I have taken care of my own on my own. So if you don't want drama dont have unprotected sex.

First off, I was engaged to the father of my child, get ran off to avoid the responsibility of helping to support OUR child. When he left I didn't even have enough money for a can of milk, but I managed. I don't argue about money in front of my child, he's not around at all, he has NOTHING to do with her whatsoever. I have never acted like my child was a mistake, and who are you to even assume that? You don't know my story. Every man that complains about child support should be ashamed though..they made the same decision to engage in sex did they not? If a woman is going to provide for that child I believe it is also the mansion to contribute as well. if you don't like that I don't care. And just so you know I support my child on my own, I do without so she's taken))) care of.

I totally understand what you are saying. I agree it's not just a women's place to care for her children when the man leaves. Everyone's circumstances are different. You could be married and he walk out and you never see him again and there you are with children to support. It's hard being a single mother, I am one. It is very expensive to provide for my son, and even more so now that he's in school. The child support system is so screwed up though they will never make his dad pay support, so I don't even push it. I figure he obviously doesn't want anything to do with his son, therefore he's MY son and I will raise and support him to the best of my ability.

You need to take your own advice.... Go get sterilized because I HOPE TO GOD that you don't procreate anymore. Seriously, you don't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed. Maybe your son is a deadbeat father or your daughter is a nasty tramp who don't take responsibility for her children? Hmm...
Before you run YOUR mouth, you need to take this into consideration:
YOU DO NOT KNOW everyone's story! What if she had an abusive boyfriend who got her pregnant on purpose? What if she can't take birth control (some people can't take the hormone Estrogen)? What if she is allergic to latex? What if she was married and he just up and left her while she was pregnant? I could go on and on. A standing ovation to you "Get Real" for defending deadbeat fathers & pretty much saying "it's okay to walk out of your childs life, but now its the mothers responsibility ONLY".
But to "mom" don't worry about this person! You seem like you have done everything you can for your child. Take him to court & get his rights taken away. & if he ever dies or anything (if no other man adopts your child) EVERYTHING HE OWNS will be your CHILDS. Even if he is MARRIED or got other children, it will all go to your child.

A parent is lucky to get child support in this county! The parent would be happy to save a receipt, the other parent paying child support would owe them money. The parent raising the child is out more expenses then the parent paying will ever be. And they still have their vistation rights, if they don't pay. The children are the only people to suffer. Try explaining where the other parent is to a small child. Why the parent is not involved in their life? It's hard to for a single parent to be both Dad and Mom. Take care of the child or children, work, send them to school, after school functions, and the list goes on........ The other parent only has to worry about the child while he or she has them for a weekend if he or she even gets the child then. Both parents should be adults, put every thing else to the side and make sure their child or children is taken care of. It's a more happier life for the child. I could go on and on put I think the point has been made. Some people just want and excuse not to do anything for their child!!!!!!!

They get divorced to receive the gubmint freebies, the father would be paying for it anyway.

child support is seen as the amount of money the father would be investing in the child even if the mother and father were still together. it doesn't matter what the mother gets if she is responsible for raising the child the father should still help provide.
How do you measure that

So, it would be acceptable to produce the following receipts...all directly related to the care of a child:
electric bill---gotta keep them warm
House or rent---unless you want them living in a cardboard box under an overpass
Grocery receipt----you do want your child fed....right?
Clothing----or do you think they should go naked?
Walmart/dollar store receipts------diapers, wipes, soap, etc...maybe you think this stuff is free???
Gas---Maybe I should never take your child to the doctor, or go to the store to buy them food, diapers, etc.

I could go on and on...Unless I'm buying drugs or spending every dime I have on clothes and make up...pretty much every dime I spend is a direct cost to raise my kid. Try raising one instead of begrudging the 100.00 dollars here and there you occasionally give.
