known him and his wife almost 40 years and I can say he is one of the best men, besides my Daddy, that I have ever met. Stop listening to rumors and get to know the man. I guarantee you will like him. If he can't do anything for you , He sure wont do anything against you.

Clay Lawson is my 2nd cousin. His Mother and my Grandmother were sisters. I think the world of him and his late wife Imo Jean. His present wife is a sweetheart too. Clay doesn't bother anyone. He has been a little pushy at times when it came to his music career, but that is about it and that shouldn't bother anyone. So, please refrain from anymore spreading of rumors.

I think he married his second wife sometime in July, possibly the 4th, I can't remember exactly. It may seem soon to some, but he fulfilled everything he needed to fulfill to Imo Jean. He has the rest of his life to live and he should live it happily. They were happy together for years and they loved each other, it was plain to see. The lady he is married to now is a very sweet person and I am sure they are very happy. I have been in church with him many times and sang at many of the same singings and revivals. He is not a church hopper by no means. He travels with his group "The Gospel Travelers" all over the county and beyond. Though it is odd to see them without Imo Jean, as she was a big part of that part of his life. I hope this helps all to understand that have questions about Clay. So lets leave it alone ok. Thank you.

Clay Lawson is a friend and fellow musician. I knew him and Imo jean for several years. they were married for 51 years and were very devoted to each other. After Imojean became sick, he never left her side until she died. I have to admit that I was shocked that he remarried so soon. He remarried less than 4 months after Imojean's death, but we need to walk a mile in his shoes before we judge. I know Imojean would want him to be happy and he seems to be. Clay is a man that don't know how to do anything around the house, and he was lost when Imojean died. So, let's pray for Clay and Gertrude and wish them well. They are good people.

Just yo be clear, you are not saying that i am judging, right?

I too was shocked when he remarried so soon, but i knew he was lonely and needed someone. My husband would most likely do it too, and I would be happy for him too. well good day,

No, I was not saying that you were judging. I agreed with your statements.Clay means well, and he and Imojean were very generous people. His new wife is nice, but she will never be no Imo Jean. ImoJean was one of a kind.

Ok I was just wondering and wanting to be clear. I agree also. I said when she passed away and then again when he remarried that it will be hard to not say Clay and Imo Jean when talking about them. They were alwasy together, where ever you saw him you saw here, where ever you saw her you saw him in most cases. She is missed.

Imojean passed away on Feb17, 2008. She died from cancer. She was a very private person, and she kept it from people as long as she could, She had breast cancer about three years ago, and it came back in her brain. She was in the hospital for about 2 months before she died. I miss her terribly. She was always good to me. Clay stayed with her in the hospital, he was very devoted to her, or seemed to be. I know he loved her, but I have to say that I felt like he disrepected her by marrying so soon, but like someone told me, I don't know what I would do if it happened to me.

True, we don't know what we would do. My sister died young after a brief illness, her husband remarried in about the same time frame. It really hurt me too. I think men think differently about that than women do, men need to be kept and cared for, women can live indefinitely without a man caring and keeping them.

Clay is a wonderful person...so was Imo Jean...and so is his new wife. He was the best husband Imo Jean could have asked for. I believe with all my heart he was a faithful, loving husband. During the last month or so of her battle with cancer she was in the hospital and the man never missed a day being there for her. I'm sure it's very hard to be alone when you've been with someone as long as they were together. And, I'm sure he will never stop loving or forget Imo Jean...he is just trying to be happy. Don't look down on him for it!!

think maybe he was lonesome and needed a companion...someone to talk to...sure she wouldn't want him to spend the rest of his life being sad and lonesome...
