There is significant conversations taking place about the CC Lake project......we are near 22 thousand strong, please make every voice heard, make a song of unison reach out to all elected officials.

This can be the most important project in nearly five decades to ever be developed in CC since the Daniel Boone Parkway first opened up access to our beautiful mountains.

Yes you are right, we need to talk to our elected officials ( Hal Rogers, Mitch and Ran Paul) They are the ones that build lakes. They do nothing for Clay County. Oh I forgot one thing Hal did do Chads Hope. Just think about it!!!

All hal rogers wants to do is build more prisons in eastern kentucky that benefit very few eastern kentuckians except for all those men and women that winds up in those prisons. The only benefit they have is the fact that they are closer to home than they would be if the prisons werent there.
Hal Rogers motto was lets use taxpayer money to build prisons in the most depressed areas of kentucky, then we bring UNITE on board so we can fill those prisons with locals but the majority of the guards and prison personnel have to have a college education to be qualified to work there meaning most clay countians are not qualified and will not get a job there. Contracts are already in place for the bureau of prisons for everything they need to operate. Meaning very few local businesses will benefit in any way from the prisons being in their county.
The only benefit to the county that I can see is the fact that all those visitors do stop and buy food and gas. But is that worth having a couple thousand inmates in your county. some of them very dangerous people no doubt?
That part isnt so bad cause those prisons are not easy to break out of. What galls me most is the fact that hal rogers lied thru his teeth to all of us when he was trying to get that money appropriated to build the prisons with.
I would love to know if he has a financial interest in the prison for profit industry which is huge in America.

Rumor: I heard that the lake in Red Bird is now dead.

Apperantly, the story goes that the Federal Government (E.P.A?) would not allow the building of dam on the premise that it would endanger some type of animal in the area.

That is the story I heard.
Anything new or reliable to back this up or disprove this?

@Duskytail Darter - thanks for the info. Perhaps my source confused his information about Red Bird with Lake Cumberland?

So is Red Bird still a go? Or did they turn it down?

Thanks again for the info Duskytail Darter.:)

@John - so the county was supposed to have a meeting on it? Sorry for the dumb question. I'm going to try to find out.
