You are wrong! I grew up in Manchester and what do they offer for the youth of this town...nothing but parties, sex, or drugs and most of the time all of the above. Really what is there a park, a pool, a couple basketball courts...

You right on thats why, people want to blame someone else or something for way things are instead of looking at there on selfs. Its not the responsibility of a place or another person to provide for your kids if you are healthy and not insane. You want your kids entertyained how about you read with them, play some exercise games so the obesity rate want be so high and cause so many health problems for you and your kids. I get so sick of people trying to pass there responsibilty of raising there kids of on either schools or someone else . Grow up, if you old enough to make a baby have enough maturity to raise it not pass it of like its a cold you trying to get rid of.

The last two post just show the ignorance of most people in this town! People like you are the reason that your town will go no where. No wonder people make fun of Clay County, you people want it to stay a s**t hole!

There is not enough revenue in clay county to support a bowling alley or arcade or anything of that nature to survive. It takes a lot of money to operate a business. With the population being what it is each kid would have to spend over 40 bucks per week for it to happen. Most kids in this area do not have access to those kind of funds.Do some research and you will figure it out.Rent, utilities, insurance,a nd other cost prohibit it from happening here.Sad but true.

There are extracurricular school and church activities almost every night. Suggest you think about one or both of these. Might work out better for you than just dropping them off where there is something to do.

Hey o spit sorry you got ruffled feathers over the truth, yopu must be one of those so called parents that want someone else to look after your kids. It does not take entertaiment to make a place grow it takes people, access and education. Reason this place has not grown, just look around, crooks, people so sorry they live for just a one check a month, kids that have no respect for anything. You want to talk about things for kids to do, you should have seen some of the destruction they have done to the things at the park, break down the kiddy rides, crap in the bathroom floors, pour the garbage out of the cans, and turn the tables over. Thats what i mean about poor parenting, just think if they had say a arcade place, wonder how long before they destroy the games, start using it as a place either for sex or do there drugs, thats what i mean parents don't act like parents, as long as there kids are out of there face they could careless what they are doing. Like the post said this place has such a limited income base, especialy since so many of these so called parents are dopeheads, time they get there drugs nothing left for kids to have anyway.O spit i say take the p out of your name put in a h and you have it right.

FYI...My husband works 12 hours a day 7 days a week and I watch my children 24/7! I being the great mom that I am moved my a** out of your sorry town before my children were born so they would at least have a chance to be normal children. My children if they choose can go see a movie, go paint balling, go to the water park, go to the arcade or anything else they want to do. They have plenty of options, something that Clay County does not give the children there. The parks there are being destroyed by the teenagers that have nothing to do...you dumba**! Also of course the parents are all on drugs, they grew up in Clay County with nothing to do as well! I think you need to stick to looking for love on here and quit being such a douchebag!

Wow i bet you a great mom, with a mouth like yours wonder if your kids know any good words. You must think i am the idiot on here looking for a woman, i got a wife so don't need another one headache at a time all i need. You rant about its teenagers with nothing to do that destroying things, shows me like you there parents must not taught them respect for others. I could careless were you live what you do or what you let your kids do, thats your business but its not the responsibilty of any town, city or person to entertain peoples children. Yea it be nice if they had a theater, or some or some other things all people not just kids to enjoy but if you had any common sense you know, with so many on a fixed income, parents that are using what little they do have to suport there drug habits you know that there not enough financial suport for much of anything around here. What few people that have good jobs it takes all they have to just survive with all the high prices. you need to wake up and face the real world to many around here are content with a once a month check and foodstamp card. you say your man works 12 hrs a day 7 days a week, if thats true then you wonder why maybe thats only way you was able to move, he sure not got a job in clay co working i can tell you. When people get on here bragging about how much they work or what they have kind of throws a red flag up for me, how much or what i have is my business not something i try to rub in peoples faces, think about that before you get angry and spout out your whining lines. Sorry you have to get angry and say crappy things but thats your right like its mine to say what i feel.

have you seen the cars the teenagers drive in clay co if you havent then take a drive down to the high school and look in the student parking lot and further more if the kids afford gas for the vehicles they drive and the 4 wheelers the drive plus the drugs and booze they buy. I am sure they could afford 40.00 aweek to go bowling or something constructive. Open your eyes you must be blind

I am NOT bragging just simply telling you he works hard so I can care for my children. In a previous post you mentioned that I must be one of the ones that do not care for my kids but like I said I care for them 24/7! As for my dirty mouth, I am 30 years old and can cuss if I want...that is my business! I am done fighting about this because I know nothing in Clay County will ever change, that's why me and my husband left...our children now have a chance to live a with something to do besides become drug addicts!

Yes, I agree with various posts that we need various new activities and recreational opportunities for our local youth that are positive and enjoyable.

Yes, I agree that parents are primarily responsible for how their children develop and whether or not they become productive citizens who can earn a living and provide for themselves.

Yes, we need new business developments and it would require local people supporting those businesses at each opportunity possible. With a county population our size we could and should have other options for our youth so that they don't have to drive to and spend at other locations.

Did anyone notice the academic accomplishments in the paper this week from our local students! WOW, we have some great young people. Not all are illiterate, delinquent, nor looking for a handout, many of our young people want to have a chance at success which means we must work together to bring about real authentic and positive change. They deserve to be able to live, work, and enjoy their hometown with pride.

Together, we can do better!
