I think Doug and Stivers will get out. They may have to be placed on house arrest beacuse they've proven they cannot follow directions while released. I guess anything is better than where they have been.

It's easier to intimidate potential witnesses when you're on the outside.

The Clay 8 are on their way home as I type this note. Looks like the Judge signed an order, saying the 8 must be released no later then August 2, 2013. It will be so good to see these 8 people home with their friends and family.

You forgot, all the witnesses are in federal prison. They were given up to 7 years off their prison sentence for their testimony. That was the deal Briggs and Smith made with them. I forgot there were a few witnesses like the former mayor whose lie swearing was thrown out and two more who were given probation for their song. I doubt they will be able to intimidate those people in federal prison. THINK ABOUT WHO THE WITNESS WERE.

These men have did 3 and half years let them come home! Murderers do less time, and if anyone thinks these men deserved to spend 26 years in prison then you have an evil soul... I am not relation to any if these men and I know they did wrong but they have served enough time. No one in this life is perfect I am sure you yourself have broken the law as well
Mr.Cletus gave me 20 years for a drug charge.just how fucking long do you think I had to stay before I got to come home to my family? It was sure in the hell alot more than four years.i had to stay that long just to get to see the parole board.

I am going to use my freedom of speech without naming individual names. I took time out of my schedule to go vote,(and yes I work).
While I raced around my schedule to make the time to cast my vote, I should have not wasted my time and listened to my gut telling me that it was already determined who the winners were.
A judge has lots of power and when they abuse that power then they should be given the max of time.
How can some on here feel sorry for people that stole your vote and think that they have served their time? No, enough time has not been served yet.
I agree that the big races are already predetermined especially the presidential race. But should a vote buyer serve more time than a child molester or killer?

Kennon, Wanda, Dobber, Charles, Carmen, Jennings, James, Daugh, the Bishops and about 20 more potential witnesses to cover old and new charges.

Some are still in prison, but their families aren't.

You forget, this wasn't simply a case of a single individual buying votes. This case involved a group of powerful and influential people who conspired over the course of decades to eventually gain the means of controlling the outcome of any local elections. If you know the connections you would see how their influence spanned across neighboring counties, to the state capitol and even to Washington. Their devious scheme allowed this group to consolidate and maintain power, acquire ill gotten wealth and punish their enemies.

Umm Hmm is right. They conspired amongst themselves to do what he put up there. I would imagine they done lots more that has not made it to the public eye yet. I also imagine some or all of that information will be brought to light during the indepth investigation that is no doubt going on with all the people that havent been charged yet.
Some of the witnesses are as guilty as any of the 8. Do you think the feds are not squeezing those people for everything they can get?
I wouldnt be surprised if one or more of the clay 8 decides to kill themselves before going back to prison to face a long stretch if it comes to that.
Cletus was a judge. He should be held to a higher standard than any of the rest but in the same breath he should have justice served on him for the crimes he committed. If any of them are innocent they should be home with their families.
Long prison sentences for nonviolent crimes is senseless to me. There has to be a better way.
