Mr. Fed Up: You are wrong! I choose to live in Manchester and truly appreciate the good things about our community but like many other concerned citizens we would like to see real, authentic leadership within the city council and other governmental bodies such as the fiscal court and board of education. Unincorporation is not a serious proposal amd it would NOT help to improve our community. We can do better!

What needs to be done is get rid of all drug lords in claycounty.I know we been getting some but there is still at least 4 or 5 left we will get them that stop alot. And bring in new poeple to run your court system that wont slap a drug addict on hand with a fine.Everyone in the court system can be bought for cash. Some can even pick there own jury. But hang on clay county we going go back about 30 years of cases its a time comsuming thing. But watch it will happen.

Stan, Stan,stan... You are living in fantasy land or you are part of the corruption. You will never suceed as a town, you pay taxes for nothing but corruption! When in God's holy name will you folks wake up. You do not need city council, mayor local government offices. To manage what? Use your taxes for what? People will mow their yards when they want whether you have a council or not. Are you really this stupid? I know of a community that decided they did not want to be incorporated as a town... They did it, guess what??? They are a happy community with no corrupt politics to deal with! That is what you are...a community, not a town. Wake up folks!

"About Manchester crime rates

With a crime rate of 49 per one thousand residents, Manchester has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 21. Within Kentucky, more than 91% of the communities have a lower crime rate than Manchester.

Separately, it is always interesting and important to compare a city's crime rate with those of similarly sized communities - a fair comparison as larger cities tend to have more crime. NeighborhoodScout has done just that. With a population of 1,255, Manchester has a combined rate of violent and property crime that is very high compared to other places of similar population size. Regardless of whether Manchester does well or poorly compared to all other cities and towns in the US of all sizes, compared to places with a similar population, it fares badly. Few other communities of this size have a crime rate as high as Manchester.

The crime data that NeighborhoodScout used for this analysis are the seven offenses from the uniform crime reports, collected by the FBI from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies, and include both violent and property crimes, combined.

Now let us turn to take a look at how Manchester does for violent crimes specifically, and then how it does for property crimes. This is important because the overall crime rate can be further illuminated by understanding if violent crime or property crimes (or both) are the major contributors to the general rate of crime in Manchester.

NeighborhoodScout's research shows that Manchester's violent crime rate is 2 per one thousand inhabitants, which is about average for all communities in America, across all population sizes. Violent crimes that are tracked and included in this rate are armed robbery, aggravated assault, forcible (not statutory) rape, and murder and non-negligent manslaughter. Roughly similar to the national average, our analysis shows that your chance of becoming a victim of violent crime in Manchester is one in 628.

In addition, NeighborhoodScout found that a lot of the crime that takes place in Manchester is property crime. Property crimes that are tracked for this analysis are burglary, larceny over fifty dollars, motor vehicle theft, and arson. In Manchester, your chance of becoming a victim of a property crime is one in 21, which is a rate of 47 per one thousand population."
